A Watcher, my point is the GB as collective must take responsibility for all cock-ups since 1919. This is according to their own words. Amongst them are the UN/OSCE fiasco, the protection of pedophiles, Mexico/Malawi scandal, and many, many more. Methinks their sins are piling up to high heaven. I can see why you follow their direction. They are brave, brave men (or very stupid).

Recently, the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses has claimed the title “faithful and discreet slave” for themselves. This is a serious matter. When Jesus, as the master, returns and finds his slave to be faithful, he will appoint him over all his belongings. But when he arrives, and finds him beating his fellow slaves while imbibing with confirmed drunkards, he will be severely punished (Matt. 24:45-51; Luk. 12:41-48; cf. Rev. 18:3). I thought these scriptures go hand in hand. Note: Verse 1, they have the name of the Father and Lamb on their foreheads. [One cannot have the name of the Father and the Lamb AND the mark of the beast. Cf. Rev. 13:16. The GB of JWs don’t qualify. According to the Revelation Climax-book you receive the mark of the beast when you become involved with the beast.]
Verse 5: “and no falsehood was found in their mouths; they are without blemish.” [Again the GB of JWs don’t qualify. Theocratic warfare = lying, is a stock in trade for them.]

the article continued saying how it was imperative that the united states recognize that it would be forced to behave accordingly or risk ddestabilizing the world.
another interesting statement was made that sooner rather than later the u.s. would become the 2nd largest economy falling behind china.

*lost*, this is from Wiki. If you are interested in broadening the meaning of the word, then go for it. But strictly speaking, it only refers to JWs in the Soviet Union. The other meanings then don't apply.

Laverite, I enjoyed reading your story. It certainly is inspiring! I have a theory about the six hundred. After the apostasy talk, they felt the urge to vomit, so they reasoned, must be coming down with something. Must get home. So, would you be so kind and explain to us what happens to the human psyche on a subliminal level when one is exposed to such high levels of hatred and abuse.

Seeing that you have communicated with some of the “little ones” on JWN, I would love to hear what your take is on the following passage:

My Letter to Brooklyn about the Parousia that got me disfellowshipped
by cofty inthis is the letter i wrote back in '96 about the parousia.
following the '95 watchtower that disconnected the "generation" from 1914 i began to look carefully at end-time prophecy and soon discovered what i knew were basic errors in what i had been taught.. i was a loyal jw at the time and was still serving as an elder.
i used only watchtower publications in my research.

Looking up scriptures during meetings
by Stealth inrecently i attended a jw funeral after a 12 year fade.
i did not bring a bible to the talk.
i found it somewhat odd and distracting to the flow of the talk at how much time was spent by all the jws looking up scriptures in the bible that they have all have read 1,000s of times before.

I looked up the Scriptures in Hebrew, Greek, and like Blondie, in different translations. There was no point in reading those same scriptures in the NWT. By then I knew them by heart. The numbering didn't always correspond, and then I had to translate. Especially one elder fumed, becoming red in the face. I think I would have caused his death if he did not move away.
