The 10 plagues of Revelation, similar to the 10 plagues of Egypt, are literal. Specifically Rev. 16:19 is literal according to the context. One cannot view the first half of a passage as literal and the second half as symbolic. It's either literal or symbolic.

Universal law of cause and effect specifically states that every single action in the universe produces an action, no matter what. Every single effect within our world, upon our earth, has a cause, an original starting point: "Causality is an influence by which one event, process, state, or object (a cause) contributes to the production of another event, process, state, or object (an effect) where the cause is at least partly responsible for the effect, and the effect is at least partly dependent on the cause. Not sure this is a general lie or one that's only prevalent in our area. In my case, they keep on telling family and friends: "It was Viqun's choice to being disfellowshipped." As far as I know, the decision to disfellowship is in the hands of the three elders involved in the judicial committee, never the accused. Not that I ever want to go back, but it really irritates me when I hear this.
