i have heard many creationists say: "just look at the universe!

there are so many things about it that have to be just right for it to be able to support life.

an interesting point, so i did a bit of basic math:.

most likely you have noticed that, no matter what, there is always a group of humans that do no follow the trend. Therefore there is always a group, big or small, that stand apart in just about any issue or trend.

Contrary to such a realistic logical fact, some here want to propose, not prove, that somehow we devoloped thin skin just because some humans decided to design and were coats to "protect" from cold weather,

not really, let me take that back, actually it was suggested, by frank i belive, that the reason was to have better sex, elimating bodly hair and thick skin, yeah right.

like body hair and thick skin disappeared as soon they started wearing coats, and happly they started having better sex without any body hair and thick skin which prenvented them from having better satisfyng bodly contac,

but according to the proposed theory they they actually did it so that future generations could benefit (better sex) from their unselfish efforts (designing and wearing coats), all of which presuppose they have no better priorities. ... .

The Global Flood

i've just read an intersting article on the flood to do with dates and whether is was truly global or a regional flood.. http://www.commentarypress.com/essay-flood.html.

my father used to be an elder for many years and the flood was one of the things that made him walk away not just from the jw but also belief in the bible.

he was hung up on issues like the flood taking place about 3500 bc and how that fit in with the pyramids.. i don't know much about egyptian history or the ages of the big pyramids, but his reasoning was if the flood wiped out every human on earth except noah etc then at 3500 bc there were only 8 people on earth.

The sign you mention was to be seen by all nations,

so far only a few, including you have seen such a sign,

"'At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn."

On the other hand jesus mentioned a a different sign, just in case you see any relationship among the two signs.

"But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah."

Sincerely, is your conviction based on "faith" or what?, initially you stated that your beleif or conviction is based on scientifice data.

I find that even if such "scientific" data is true it does not answer a lot of other challenging quesntion.

just watched a documentary about benny hinn ministry, i can't believe anyone is that gullible to believe this crap.

not only is he a fraud but he is also a crook, taking money from poor susceptible people.

he also sure likes to live the high life to.

Dont blame yourself dont compare jw with Benny. The obious is obvious. In the jw religion people were not even drawn to a particular indivual "prophet", everything seemed just right.

Why do you think so many bright people, like you two, could not see the "truth about the truth"?

As a social group jw were just right. After all the social aspect is what keep people, even bright people, attached to a group.

Well probably many find Benny likeable (sp?) even if they dont know him. Those who enter a personal relationship is mainly becaused they "liked" each other, a subjective matter.

Just one thing I am curious about concerning your comments about Christmas being pagan. Are you saying that you agree with the JW and so you still don't celebrate Christmas because of its supposed Pagan origin and if you do agree with them, what exactly do you consider to be pagan? I dont really care if is Pagan or not,

I dont "celebrate" as such but i enjoy and have a REAL good time whenever other are having a good time for whatever reason, cristmas included.

I agree with jw, i learned only from them, cristmas is nonsense and a very lucrative economy acitvy at present. Something does not have to no nosense for me to enjoy, after all mostly in life is nonsense.

There is a certain comfort in reading your posts; namely that the Jehovahs Witnesse beleief as I knew it has not changed.

"has not changed"? I dont see how you arrive to such a conclusion.

Your "comfort" seem an indication that you worry about "missing' something about jw,

Ttha is the same reason many (maybe all) are on this board, not that they acknwoledge, otherwise we have twisted sense of humor and enjoy only negativity, as perceived and demotrated by the great majority of written words.

Many seem to be proud of what they are today, but at the same time forget that they are what the are most likely thanks to jw background.

BTW i have been out as long as you, probably more, despite my topic there must be a good couple reason for not returning..

But if the globe in which we live had only a negartive pole it could not "run"

Some of the word you use are

"Imagine",

"Let's say the climate drastically begins to",

"probably reproduce"

"A very small group adapted,"

To me "probably" means "based on availble evidence'" which in this cases you have not provided, .

With regard to humans, it's not that 6 billion humans magically adapted at the same time. A very small group adapted, and then became dominant so that we now cover the earth.

ok but during the mean time go and get some evidence, at least to prove that female humans had an agenda againts thick skin and finally prevailed. Without evidence, your theory makes sense, as most current HUMAN females do not even like facial hair.

the burden of proof belong to you, didn't you already ask for help in that regard?

the fact is that many like me do not have a need or reason to think contrary to what it is being shown (thin skin) in real time.

It is strange that ALL humans decided to ger rid of the "thick skin" (just ONE example),

More surprising when even today you find humans that keep their millenary traditions, refusing to change and adopt modern confort and "toys", but NONE is keeping their traditional (?) "thick skin"
