Just one thing I am curious about concerning your comments about Christmas being pagan. Are you saying that you agree with the JW and so you still don't celebrate Christmas because of its supposed Pagan origin and if you do agree with them, what exactly do you consider to be pagan? What is a pagan to you? Enjoyed your comment, though. Thanks

I dont really care if is Pagan or not,

I dont "celebrate" as such but i enjoy and have a REAL good time whenever other are having a good time for whatever reason, cristmas included.

I agree with jw, i learned only from them, cristmas is nonsense and a very lucrative economy acitvy at present. Something does not have to no nosense for me to enjoy, after all mostly in life is nonsense.

There is a certain comfort in reading your posts; namely that the Jehovahs Witnesse beleief as I knew it has not changed.

"has not changed"? I dont see how you arrive to such a conclusion.

Your "comfort" seem an indication that you worry about "missing' something about jw,

Ttha is the same reason many (maybe all) are on this board, not that they acknwoledge, otherwise we have twisted sense of humor and enjoy only negativity, as perceived and demotrated by the great majority of written words.

Many seem to be proud of what they are today, but at the same time forget that they are what the are most likely thanks to jw background.

BTW i have been out as long as you, probably more, despite my topic there must be a good couple reason for not returning..

But if the globe in which we live had only a negartive pole it could not "run"

To me "probably" means "based on availble evidence'" which in this cases you have not provided, .

With regard to humans, it's not that 6 billion humans magically adapted at the same time. A very small group adapted, and then became dominant so that we now cover the earth.

ok but during the mean time go and get some evidence, at least to prove that female humans had an agenda againts thick skin and finally prevailed. Without evidence, your theory makes sense, as most current HUMAN females do not even like facial hair.

the burden of proof belong to you, didn't you already ask for help in that regard?

the fact is that many like me do not have a need or reason to think contrary to what it is being shown (thin skin) in real time.

God did not provide a natural shaving tool

More surprising when even today you find humans that keep their millenary traditions, refusing to change and adopt modern confort and "toys", but NONE is keeping their traditional (?) "thick skin"

Ruherford went as far as to promote the idea that facial hair was the result of sin.

I am not sure if the "theory" was ever printed but i know for fact that when i was very young it was told to me by top guns when i asked about it

That is why Adam and jesus were not shown with facial hair in wt literature prior to the early 60. They may still keep such books at the kh libraries. Check the most widely wt distribuited book at the time, the pink book "Paradise lost..." printed around 1960

The real reson is that Russell (the founder of the movemente) had facial hair (long!!!) and when Rutherford came into power ( in a very questionable style, illegal actually) Rutherford "the judge" knew what to do to steer attention away from founder of the movement. Lawyer are lawyers, you know..

He banned facial hair and also changed the name for the movement from "bible students" to jw

wt literature showed Adam and jw WITHOUT facial hair up until earlyl 60.

THEN, around that time Fidel Castro came into power in Cuba... then the hippies and you know the rest of the story. The REAL reason for banning facial hair was never told. .

The Global Flood

i've just read an intersting article on the flood to do with dates and whether is was truly global or a regional flood.. http://www.commentarypress.com/essay-flood.html.

my father used to be an elder for many years and the flood was one of the things that made him walk away not just from the jw but also belief in the bible.

he was hung up on issues like the flood taking place about 3500 bc and how that fit in with the pyramids.. i don't know much about egyptian history or the ages of the big pyramids, but his reasoning was if the flood wiped out every human on earth except noah etc then at 3500 bc there were only 8 people on earth.
