it's nice to know that, not only are we "mentally diseased" - we are also now "gangrenous.
" since the society seems to enjoy using medical terms to insult us, are there any bets what the next published insult will be?

Would a downtown NY public protest against shunning help or harm the Watchtower Corp?
by tootired2care inso i was having an interesting thought the other night -- albeit probably not original, but interesting.
what would be accomplished if thousands of us banded together and held a huge protest of the issue of shunning family right behind the governing body's headquarters (25 columbia heights) in brooklyn bridge park?
the shunning of non-believing family is a strong issue that i'm sure everyone of us could get behind 100%.

A good You tube post gets more hits. A van or car parked outside Bethel or an Assembly hall with wraps or signage showing websites and a short message like "Religion is a snare and a Racket" might get some thinking.
Protests at Bethel were common when I was there..and did little.

Had some weird stuff happen with RVs who had been hard core Satanists. Broad daylight with another JW in the room.
The deep loud booming voice from an empty corner of the room ordering us out of the house, while the RV shook and flopped around like a puppet. right out of a movie script. Tried all the tried and true JW stuff...decided descretion was the better part of valor and left.
Do I worry about it ..no. Do I buy stuff at garage sales ..yes. But when someone tells me they pray to satan and have a "spirit" I take them at their word..and move along..thank you very much.

Does the current Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses go out in field service in Brooklyn ?
by Balaamsass inin the past, 20 years ago governing body members did go in field service and participate in field service with rank & file members.
however it appears that perhaps the "slowdown" in service activity might be traced to headquarters.
the "read the bible sign" is going the way of the dinosaurs..with the move to "the compound" upstate perhaps "advertise, advertise, advertise" has been replaced with "hide, hide, hide"...the king and his kingdom.

How many decades/centuries before 1914 becomes irrelevant?
by jwfacts inhow long do you think the watchtower can speak about 1914 and have followers think it relevant?
i think for people born in the 1900's, it feels like an acceptable year.
but what about those born since 2000, will 1914 seem like a year of relevance?

One decade. They have done that many times before. Russel has been fired in absentia from the "Faithful slave"...so it will be easy to say he was well meaning but wrong.
They denied WRITTEN statements about 1975 in under 5 years....and PROMOTED Freddy Franz. ANYONE who pointed out the obvious was an "apostate".

April 15, 2013 Watchtower - p. 22-26: Organization-Obsessed Much???
by sd-7 inthere's a study article "make sure of the more important things", and in no uncertain terms the article makes clear that "jehovah's organization" is the most important thing.
the term "organization" or "jehovah's organization" is used a whopping 24 times in the article, including a subheading titled: "follow the example of jehovah's organization".
i thought organizations were entities, but that sort of subheading makes it seem like the organization is one giant person whose example we can follow.
