  10 Years Japan losses 5,400 Publishers and 638 Kingdom Halls! Why?

  japan had a handful of witnesses after ww 2....this number skyrocketed to 222,912 by 1998!

  then something happened.

  publisher figures didn't stop, they dropped by thousands over the next decade!.

  From laundry mat to laundry mat

  about three years ago, i was walking past a local laundry mat and i noticed some of the society s publications laying on the chairs by the window.

  so i walked inside and found an awake from 1995 and a watchtower from 1989. the latter one was funny to me because i was still in the organization when it was released.

  i couldnt help but be shocked at how old these magazines were.

  I remeber one couple who went on LONG road trips and left magazines at EVERY rest stop....and counted the magazines AND entire time. LOL From state...to ...state...

  some people recently raised concerns about security of the site relating to whether forum members could be watchtower plants trying to obtain information about people.

  apparently, this was because a previous forum that was setup was either owned by or later handed over to someone who used it to collect personal information about people which was then used to harrass them.

  i don't know all the details, i'm just paraphrasing what i've heard and recognize that it's a concern to some people.. i want to first of all put people's minds at rest: i've been running this site for what will be 13 years next month.

  I find this an unusual turn.

  However I knew a Bethelite who was the son of a prominant Gilead graduate couple who became Catholic.

  I guess if you are going to give the governing body a free pass for homosexuality, child molestation, and Popery (creature worship)......you might as well be Catholic.

  so i'm young enough to not remember having hot prepared meals at assemblies, but heard all about it from my parents and the like.

  but what i do remember were all of the cold sandwiches and institutional snacks and soda.

  remember the food tickets we started to use?
