  does anyone here have any suggestions on handling financial abuse of a senior by the watchtower bible and tract society?

  mom gave a lot of money to the watchtower bible and tract society over her lifetime- (6 figures).

  after she ran low on funds she made a 5 figure "conditional loan" to wtb&ts.

  one thing led to another, and i decided to produce another world map, this time showing the net reduction in publishers for each country.. this has been calculated by means of the following equation for each country:.

  I wonder what these numbers would look like if it took more than 15 minutes of Field Service every 6 months to remain "Active". (I am certain many Secretaries are automaticly crediting those 15 minutes to boost stats).

  If this site and information was translated into Spanish, and internet was more widespread in the 3rd world JW stats would be even lower.

  Based on the number of "Dearest __you have inherited $$" emails I get from Nigeria, and your stats..internet service & English must be very widespread there!

  LOL- great thread. An old C.O. from a Latin American Country had me in stitches with stories of special Pioneer missionaries 1940s Mexico who had a .357 in one saddlebag, and a bible in the other. "This is for da Sheeps and dis is fo de goats!" Did you know the Bethel Watchmen used to carry a 6" S&W 38 special on rounds? That was untill one got spooked and shot holes through some giant rolls of paper...making see-through holes in lots of WATCH towers....:) Knorr said enough of that!! late 1940-50s). THAT story is somehow missing in the Proclaimers book. One time a Deputy Elder (1960s) was giving a talk- and his jacket moved...exposing his gun...on the platform. I would imagine he carried a heater door to door..actually I thought it really cool as a kid. "Momcan I get a gun for field service too? Please Please Please! :) Only in America P.S.- I understand Mexico has very strict gun control laws..they are very effective...

  How many ex-jws move out of town to start over?

  i was wondering how common it is for ex-jws to relocate after leaving the borg in order to escape the bad memories of being in a cult, or to break contact with cult members.. i have wanted to move far away for as long as i can remember--even as a kid--for this purpose.

  various life circumstances have delayed that--long story--but mr. rebel8 and i are thinking of moving within the next few years.

  i am the one who's most interested in moving to a completely different type of place--different culture, different climate, different everything!

  We moved 45 minutes away..but a well meaning jw relative passed along our address to the new "local" hall and we have been pestered by the P.O. for a "meeting". We should have moved further away or bought the P.O. box sooner. $26.00 return address for peace of mind. Big dummy here.

  the latest august 15th watchtower study edition features an interesting review of the society's annual meeting.. one comment struck me as evidence that the governing body isn't quite as "discreet" as it claims.. here is what the article said:.

  "there are plans to develop a 248-acre (100 ha) property at warwick.

  'although we are not yet certain of jehovahs will regarding warwick,' said brother pierce, 'we are proceeding to develop the site with the intention of relocating the world headquarters of jehovahs witnesses there.

  Wow. Has anyone sent some of the more disturbing WTBTS information to City Council, Newspapers, Citizen Groups, Building Departments, and County supervisors in the WARWICK AREA? Concerned citizens might not like so much land being removed from tax roles, and so many elderly (and future elderly) moving into the area to suck up public aid programs. It isn't like they pay taxes or buy medical insurance....and it might be a future Jonestown...:) It would be a shame to start having permit problems AFTER selling all the Brooklyn buildings.

  Snarky I get a kick out of your videos! I think WTBTS is following the Morman lead with Bain Capital. Hedge funds offer more flexability and investment vehicles and are perfectly suited for WTBTS info. Have you ever wondered how presidents and others with public saleries leave office soooo rich? Information. Did you really believe Hilery Clinton was ALWAYS Lucky as a beginner in Commodities trading? Information. If you have brother "Andre" working at xyz a private company, you have a reliable source for information about them. If you have brother "Andre" working in a mine in deepest africa you have a source about if a new deposit of that obscure alloy has been found or is played out... a week before Chicago or New York finds out. The branch can simply pass the info along. How much money could you make getting the Financial pages or Horse race results 2-7 days before anyone else? Private Hedge funds don't have as many restrictions as public funds. They can be in the US or Offshore. Folks in the US and British Commonwealth are under the mistaken idea everyone plays by the rules.

  No. I just was made aware of four victims and two perps a couple of weeks ago! The perps: An Elder and an MS. ! The victims and the families were threatened with disfellowshipping. Some quit the Borg and have been painted as lying apostates.......

  Solar Eclipse Tomorrow, May 20, 2012

  for anyone interested, tomorrow there will be an annular eclipse of the sun, which will be seen from china and japan to the middle of the united states.. below is a link to a site that shows an animated map of how the eclipse will appear in your neck of the woods.

  just click on your state or country and go from there.. if you want any more info on this eclipse, you can do a google search.. here in the dfw area, the sun will be eclipsed about 90%, which should still provide a decent show.

  those living on the east coast of the usa will not be able to see it though, due to the fact that the sun will already have set in that area..

  the next day was going to be tough.

  i had to do kind of a portfolio check session with the illustrators and work on some photo retouching for an up coming italian awake magazine and work with someone from the graphics department on the miniaturization issue.

  as i walked around a little bit i noticed a large hell scanner sitting in a room with a plastic tarp over it.
