  "Amish - Out of Order"...Have you watched this show???

  it comes on the national geographic channel and it's about young people who choose to leave the amish faith/way of life, the backlash from their families, and their adjustment to the "outside" world.

  it's fascinating for me to watch.

  some of the experiences are unique to amish, but so much of it is similar to what people feel when they decide they no longer want to be witnesses.

  Excellent series. Lots of similarities. 3gen refers to JWs as "Amish with lipstick".

  I also enjoyed a series on the Travel Channel, I believe from the BBC. Ollie and ...with ..- Two guy live with a remote tribe of ex headhunters in New Guinea. They have Elders and a strict set of rules..and consider the ONLY correct way for a man to dress is with a 3ft stick over his Penis. I was rolling on the floor laughing when the "Elders needed to meet with a young Woman" Such Serious looks..but naked exept for that stick.

  Amazing how any tribe or group can delude themselves into what is normal..

  Governing body member engaged... Again!

  just found out that the australian governong body member known as geoffrey jackson got engaged to a sister about two weeks ago.

  it really shocked me at first but then i remembered how other members of the gb have remarried in the past like daniel sidlik.

  what made me say "woah" was hearing that the holy bride to be is really young!

  AHHHH I rememeber when Dan Sidlyck brought his nubile young wife to Bethel. I was assigned to his table on weekends..the whole thing was uncomfortable for me :). She sat almost directly across from me Dan wanted to dominate conversations, and didn't like light polite "Chit-chat". I felt sorry for her in a way, the poor chump who sat next to her got a crush on her and told Dan "he shouldn't belittle his wife" ..ohh boy... not smart Sherlock. That guy was gone gone gone from Bethel soon after.

  How many JW pedofiles do you personally know?

  i was just thinking that out of the 200 jws that i actually know, at least 4 of them to my knowledge are pedophiles.

  i know for a fact, through personal confidences.

  that means, as far as my circle of jovo friends/acquaintances goes, 2% of them are kiddy fiddlers.. without mentioning names or details, how many do you know of for a certainty to be pedos, and what percentage does it work out at, considering all your circle of jovo friends?.

  Personally know about 2-300 + JWS.

  One Megans list ex presiding overseer- multiple victims. He cost WTBTS big $$. A rapist in same cong. never convicted.

  One active Pedo on and off MS. Half dozen victims. He threatens to sue anyone who outs him.

  Pedo who had relations with his own daughter, sit up front always answers he and his church lady wife speak ill of their daughter/victim "she left the truth".

  2 more semi active pedos molested their own children. 2 more suspected but child victims have run away.

  Countless JW men who have physically brutalized wives and children. Some serve as elders.

  what kingdom halls do the governing body attend?

  my guess is they go to private meetings.

  it is very clear the rules that apply to all jw's do not apply to them.

  In the 70s GB member Dan Sidlick and wife attended a hall in Brooklyn at the edge of Bed Stye. He had a "group" of Bethelites assigned to "travel with him" ie: bodyguards. One was a huge guy, an undefeated Golden Gloves champ who was a newly converted JW. Some of the other big wigs had big guys, vietnam vets, and ex cops as "traveling partners". Depended on the neighborhoods they where assigned to. Ray Franz served as an Elder in a poor Haitian congregation. He spoke French and Spanish.

  Divorce: Are 'Worldly' People More Ethical?

  divorce is not, by nature, something pleasant or 'nice' in general.

  that said, i do wonder if there is a trend in the world that transcends the "truth".. i can hardly read anything biographical these days without encountering someone who has gone thru an amicable divorce - at least, amicable in the outcome, anyway.

  they may 'still be friends' and simply come to see it as another step in their personal evolution.

  Strollers at DC

  if i understand it correctly, strollers are not allowed at us conventions.. in sweden, a letter was written to the congregation, introducing this new rule.

  however, quite a few families wrote letters to the society,.

  asking if they wanted families with children to attend the assemblies or not... it was stated that they would not go unless strollers were allowed.. the society pulled back, allowing strollers in designated areas.. in norway, they didn t even bother to introduce the rule in the first place... .

  I must admit it helps in these here parts if your attorney is the Judge's nephew and 2cd cousins with most of the Jury...but I am impressed with RICK Simmon's results.
