To me at least, there seems to be a polarization now with JWs. 20-30% seem to be real "Kool-Aid drinkers". Also pioneering is the only way to "move up" in the male dominated tribe for females. Also it seems to me a lot of people on long term disability (mental and otherwise) have been joining in the last 20 years. Two newer publishers in my last hall were nuttier than a fruit cake, on full government assistance and became regular pioneers.

I guess all those people on the buses going to conventions were not as blessed as the family going to the meeting????
Out thanks to Blondie, Cedars and everyone else who can stomach taking the time to read through all that stuff for gems. AND those who can actually sit through a meeting long enough to report news. I can't do it anymore. My favorite chair and a cocktail harken to me now at 7:30 pm.
Hats off.

Good Reasons To Hate Every Weak And Ex-Jehovah Witness.
by AuntConnie in1. my husband's time is finite, it's wasted on spouses arguing over money, sex or family mattters with stupid home visits.. .
i hate people's constant open hand for money, it's the weak individuals asking others to pull their weight.
my family worked extra hours instead of begging the strong members for district assembly money, cat food for seven cats or tiny little rag-a-muffins weiner dogs.. .

2012 report analysis - growth of JWs according to local internet availability
by cedars inhi everyone.
i did a similar chart to the one below last year, but this year i thought i'd make it slightly more meaningful by giving the statistics across three years rather than just one.. hopefully it's fairly self explanatory.. i'm making the data i've used available in a separate pdf download for those who are interested.. .

? Curious: How many Jehovah's Witnesses leave to join "non-christian" religions, ie; Wicca, Pagan, Satanists, Buddists, Hindu, etc. ?
by Balaamsass init may seem a strange question, but when i served as an elder i personally knew of about a dozen elders and servants children who joined various wicca groups or became buddists rather than leave to become agnostic or another "christian" denomination.. the ones who became involved with witchcraft did so in groups of jw children intregued by all the talk of satan's and the demon's power etc.
in the org.. the future buddists seemed turned off by the politics, and mean spiritness in halls.. i just thought of this after seeing the new dismal yearbook numbers and looking at facebook pages of some of the ex jws i know.. was this simply a california thing or is it worldwide?.
