  i have so many that range from shakespeare, eckhart tolle to wilbur smith and subjects that cover everything from fiction, fantasy, poetry to non fiction.. i started reading a series many years ago but never got around to completing it.

  i've come across it again and am thouroughly enjoying it.

  the author is terry pratchett and the series is discworld.

  when literature used to be sold d2d, i remember how the society never missed an opportunity to trash other religions for "peddling god's word for profit" while boasting about how the watchtower only charges for the cost of the paper and ink.. in the book "witnesses of jehovah", the author mentioned that randall watters used to be involved in print cost analysis and determined that, while we were selling wt & awake mags for 20 cents door-to-door, it was really only costing the society 4 cents per copy to produce.

  that's a whopping 400% profit!.

  obviously, things have changed... the paper is different, as well as the ink and printing methods in general.

  Randy,

  I wonder what will be the excuse when they do a 'fire-sale' of Kingdom halls around the world?--or will it be done for them?

  The KH I used to go to has been told it needs to renovate its toilets and kitchen area. I have been around a while and i can tell you there is nothing wrong with them. No cracks in pedestals, no loose tiles nothing broken at all.

  I didnt know about the borrowing $$ from the wts to do it though. Is that like Jesus said when he threw out the money lenders; something about making money in my fathers house...

  marriage without affection/sex/touching

  yes thats my situation.

  some where along the path of life the wt guilt trip was dumped on our marriage and we havent had sex for years.. anyone else?

  the hearts and flowers and gifts and doing the cleaning, the house work and paying the daily accounts never being drunk on drugs playing the horses or screwing others yep its all there but nothing coming back due to the wt guilt trip.. they made so much of 'oral sex' and 'pornea' incorrectly quoted at that and ventured thereby into areas they were patently very ill equipped to comment on.

  Been to counsellors many times down the years. She left the last one in tears the counsellor that is.

  Talk in pornos/ Porno are about display not closeness so talking isnt it its all physical.

  Re books yes there are lots I have purchased some and she has refused to read any of them.

  I am used to the miserable life I have but i thought i would raise the issue and its causes.

  Holy Crap! I just read it. Shower and wash the sheets? Hes one sick puppy he is. But it should not surprise us. In an org that picks it leaders by the way they dress the 'hours' they put in or whether the can handle a microphone or open windows. Not on real qualifications with people being formal 'Interpersonal skills', "Counsellor Training" or what quality study course they have done on marriage and relationships.

  The lunatics are in charge of the assylum!

I feel someone at bethel watched some vile aggressive porno and believed that was that. Pornos dont show tenderness and no one talks in them. The WTS have so little regard for the intelligence of its members ( sorry people on their 'personal mission' ) they assume the porno screen is the normal mariage bed. Wrong! But sex is a very fragile thing as body image time place stress too many meetings all with bad news shopping paying the bills kids, work, monthlies... all have a bearing on ability and satisfaction.

  Its rather emarkable that having done the pornea thing to death the most recent magazines skip past it just so lightly. Hnnn.

  a few days ago i ate a corn nut that was kind of sharp.

  it made a very tiny scratch on my tongue the size of a period (.).

  i have a bleeding disorder so it bled for 3 hours.

  Dear Rebel18, The longer I live the more I am convinced there is something in the water in the usa. I am amazed and distressed that some of the 'beliefs' that people come out with only seem to belong there.

  I have NEVER heard of any of the mental regulating faecal matter you speak of in Australia and this is a very multi racial country with Bros n sisters from many lands here.

  You have my sympathies. Let commonsense be your guide give 'elders' the flick.

  JW boyfriend, the sequel

  almost a year ago i made a few posts here about how much effort i ought to put into getting a man i loved considerably out of the wt.

  by that point i had already put in a lot of effort and accumulated a nice collection of books on the wt, on cults, on bible chronology.

  then i finally gave up and decided to leave.. we kept in pretty regular touch until last fall, when i moved a neat twelve time zones away.

  an inactive jw guy, still close and in contact with jw family and some jw friends, wanting to marry a worldy christendom girl.

  he made their relationship known to everybody (family and friends).

  excited to get married to the girl and to start a life proper.. the jw thinking is still strong in him - doctrine, holidays, voting and stuffs; but indicated disagreement with some wts policies, teaching about wts being the only true religion, and did some research about wts, even read a part of coc.. what say you about this guy?

  .. it was posted just a few days ago (11th) and explains a number of things some have puzzled over with regard to australian law, and why things unfolded as they did.. it includes a report compiled by an ex-jw who attended the hearings.. for those that took an interest in the case .

  I understand from earlier reports that actual child rape was involved in the Traralgon (Victoria, Australia) congregation. If this is the case why no charges?

  Steven Unthank what do you know of this fact or fiction?...please.

  My correspondence with the Attorney general in the state of Victoria found that because "Some" witnesses had then applied for 'Working with child checks'(clearances) then the case was dropped. the AG also said that any allegations of rape or actual molestation should be directed to the police. Well this isnt news of course they should but were they.

  For Steven to then defend the 'borg' as everyone seems to call it blew his case out of the water.

  Sorry folks there is too many loose ends in this business.
