we met after the meeting which i found strange i figured if i was to be named it would be before the meeting.

they read me the letter from the wt.

it basically said that they were happy about my recommendation but they couldnt accept the recommendation of a 16 year old that i should wait until i was at least 17. of course i was not 16. the problem is that in spanish you write the day first the month after.

well inBritain and Australia and New zealand and a lot of other countries we write the date the same as you do.

10/11/2012. being 10th November 2012.

They remind me of the US president who was annoyed that Japanese didnt import more US made cars. Until he found out that Japanese cars and a whole lot of other countries are right hand drive and they drive on the left side of the road.

If the elders (read all JW) did have more than a gnats worth of education they would understand the date thing and be a lot more humble about it when they are told.

How to help a friend who has left the truth!!1

i was after any advice or suggestions about how to support a friend who was born and raised in the truth, my friend is now 22 and has tried to fade out but his parents are having a hard time accepting this, don't get me wrong i understand why they are, but the stress and pressure he is under is taking it's toll on him.. i have tried to be there for him as i use to study with the jehovah witness's some years ago but i don't think i can or will ever truly understand what it's like to be born into a family of jehovah witness, i understand why his parents are shunning him and they only talk to him when they think they have come up with away to get him to go back to truth.. .

i would like to hear any real life exsperances and how you where there and helped a friend deal with leavign the truth and accepting that your family will most likely never going to talk to you again.. .

and if your family is never going to speak to you again what is the loss? what would they talk about?... the "truth" which means evryone else in the cong or who is going out with who?

did his parents ever have a life? was he allowed to have ahobby that was not pushed to second place by having to..'get ready for meeting/s'.

did his parents ever have an education?

i can venture to say 100% of jehovah witnesses i would see at meetings after a natural disaster would ask "how many dubs were hurt, or killed?

" i am very guilty of this same myopic world-view, now i am ashamed of myself for not asking/praying for the well being of all victims of a terrible catastrophe.

why were we so selfish, is there any reason we were not willing to pray for all victims suffering?

yes what about the 50 jw killed injured in a truck rollover in Africa while going to a convention. It is alleged the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Health - has anyone else suffered long lasting health effects from years with the Borg?

does anyone else feel or know that jehovah's witnesses damaged their health?.

i know many have emerged with depression, and i'm very relieved that i am not one of them.. but, being the age i am, (a large tribe of grandchildren) i was nonetheless pressured to go out door to door in steep countryside often in bad weather, and because i was doing my best to keep up that ended in an injury which has proved to be long lasting.. and that's not counting the stress-induced consequences...i won't cite them all here, but physical.

a few days in hospital and a summer spent on compulsory almost complete rest can all be laid at the watchtower's door.the trauma of actually extricating oneself from the borg is not stopped when one has finally written that letter that disassociates oneself from them.

hey guys.... i have a few important questions for everyone.

this applies to doubters, faders, inactive, dfed or seasoned apostates.

first, let me set it up:.

Its possible your 'friend' is fishing. Just possible.. many JW constantly probe whether they realize it or not.

Beware of rumour mongers but take heart that is the journey THEY are on. There is also such a law in all countries called 'slander'. If your friend starts really going on about others relaying these nasty things remind them of this.

We all feel awkward when faced with others hurts or painful situations you are only human.

How often do you mix with this person who is relaying thsese things? Ned to ask yourself that or in other words broaden out.
