Christian/JW Apologists have a deep seated fear that their beliefs are false. To ease their anxiety they choose to attack those who represent the possibility that their hopes and beliefs are rooted in fiction.

Stupid WT Q's : Is It Wise or Safe to Keep a Dog? Demons—How Can We Resist Them?
by Sea Breeze inyes, that is an actual question in the awake magazine.
jw kids lives are already miserable enough trying to obey all the ignorant rules of the wt.. no sports, no school dance, no holidays.... just field service.
as if that isn't enough.... let's take away their puppy dogs too!.

I recall a Circuit Overseer who would state from the platform that "dog" spelled backwards is "god" and we already have one of those.
So, the criteria is -
- Identify the object's name is English
- Spell that name backwards
- If it goes contrary to the Bible it is bad

Are you driven by vengeance or Payback?
by Fisherman in“there is nothing more ironic and curious than a trapper being caught in his own trap or a plot backfiring.
ironic justice is the best revenge.” the inventor of the brazen bull, one if the most heinous torture devices in history was tricked to go inside of it and died of the torture he created.. probably one of the greatest movies ever made features revenge as its theme: once upon a time in the west.
sadly in this movie the main character doesn’t rely on ironic justice happening by god or chance.

There is no justice. You can choose peace or you can chose vengeance. If you pick the latter be prepared for your own undoing.

question for those who either aux pioneered pioneered
by enoughisenough inhow many of you would have spent the hours "pioneering" if it weren't for the pats on the back and being looked up to as someone special in the congregation?
i will admit that back in late 1970's i attempted to aux pioneer during a campaign because it was promoted and seemed the right thing to do,but i didn't get the hours and it was stressful trying to...and i didn't feel like a cheerful giver.
i never attempted it again.

When I graduated high school I did so with about a dozen other kids from the 3 congregations that met at the Kingdom Hall in my town. It was usually a tradition that you regular pioneer just long enough to go to Pioneer School and then quit. When I graduated my parents told me I had to get a job. So I auxiliary pioneered every month for a year putting in 100 hours a month.
I did not regular auxiliary pioneer. In all honesty I did it to 1) hear my name from the platform every month during the announcements and 2) to hang out will all my friends who were regularly pioneering. In the eyes of Witnesses one might say I did have some success. I placed dozens of magazines and started a couple of Bible studies.
Once my friends got to go to Pioneer School they all stopped being pioneers. Some got jobs. Some got marries. Some got disfellowshipped.
I quit too. I got a fulltime job as a laborer with a construction company. Whenever I got laid off I would pioneer again because it kept my parents off my back while looking for work.

No part of the world
by Lost in the fog inthe wt calls itself christian while at the same time insisting that its witnesses don't mix with other christian groups but remain separate.. to be no part of the world.. i was mulling this over recently in my personal bible reading.
in the first century that demarcation would have made sense because apart from your fellow worshippers the rest of mankind were going to be jewish, roman, polytheistic, pagan, or (i guess much like today) didn't really care.. christians had no worries about meeting up with other people who believed in jesus the same as they did even if there were minor differences depending on who had first taught the gospel message to them.
but nowadays there's not just one christian group against the world, there's lots of "christians" out there.

The funny thing is that the first Christians were practicing Second Temple Jews. So, they practiced Judaism, but also followed the teachings of Jesus. There were several branches of Christianity right out of the gate.
I do think the historical Jesus would agree with you 100%.

Is doomsday coming as the Bible predicts or will nothing happen eventually?
by Fisherman inthe bible predicts that at some point, the god of the bible will take action.
this is very convincing when reading bible prophecy and history to back up prophecy as represented in the bible.
—exactly when god acts is another subject..

Doomsday has happened several time on Earth. Extinction level events have happened several times. If humans don't start colonizing other planets, even the moon, we will eventually be wiped out.

Jehovah's Witnesses - Where is Your Money Going?
by Sea Breeze inafter discouraging and in many instances prohibiting jw's from getting an education, like in computer graphics, film-making and design, the wt is employing these kinds of professionals and throwing vast sums of money at their new film-making adventures doubtless from all the properties they confiscated, sold that the local members paid for.
kim and mikey talk about this primarily starting at 13:15https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqafxmsjirk&ab_channel=kimmikey .

I think the Watchtower needs a giant sign the reads "W-A-T-C-H-T-O-W-E-R" in the hills behind the studio. Kind of like this one.

“The United Socialist States of America?”
by Fisherman inwhen i was growing up, some people were on welfare but the vast majority were working people that paid their own rent, doctor’s bills, medicine, food, etc.
—and saved money.
so, a working person did not need financial help from the government if they didn’t have vices.

In addition it seems the government is doing this in an attempt to prop up our consumer based society which is an unsustainable model. It is an exercise in keeping the zombie walking. That is to say, the consumer based societies of the world are like an animated, rotting corpse.
I think the elite are alright with this because if the bottom falls out our fiat currency will be totally worthless. Then everyone one will be equally destitute.

Our J.W friends still have issues with beards 2022??Why?
by Witness 007 inour witness friend who during covid grew his beard has been hassled by elders who asked him "why" he chose to have facial growth.
he for real, had to give an answer why.
this is pharasees total rubbish.

Rutherford hated beards. He said "No beards." Since Watchtower math is "obedience = everlasting life" they did not question. Any attempt to answer the question outside of this is just an ignorant Witness trying to sound pious.
