Okay its time for me to confess, it was me, I was chasing this squirrel and was gooooing oooh so fast that I appeared as an bright orange light ball searing across the grass.!! Sorry to have frightened you. I forgot how scary that can be to humans.

when i was in dub-dom....i used to hate eating out....my ex always made us bow our heads and close our eyes tight shut while he gave thanks out loud.
did you do that in public??
or did you do it discreetly with your head bowed but eyes not shut....or.....head in hand...hoping people would think u were in deep thought?
my father was an elder and he always said the prayer in the car before we went into eat in a resturant. If I was alone or with me sister we would just say our own short prayer and that was it. I think that people who make a bib ta do about it or only making themselves look wierd and one more reason why people laugh at JW's.

back in the late eighties i was on the committee to build our cities new double kingdom hall so that all five halls would be under one roof.
we needed to come up with five hundred thousand dollars to complete the new hall, so we had a kingdom hall fund drive where the local brothers would raise the needed funds.
after two years we had collected the half million dollars, and guess where that money went????????
Talk about the GB staying at ******star hotels, has anyone ever noticed the lap of luxury at the Bethels. In the Canadain branch its very luxurious, they have court yard for tennis, pool, park, and physical fitness room, luxury rooms etc. etc. And yes the tragedy of this is I see many witnesses struggle to get by and give there last penny to the society and they suffer. Oh they don't worry, they say Jehovah will provide... Well that is a bunch of BS I can tell you from personal experience I had to go to the food bank once a month because my ex husband was on a disability income and I was to ill to work. And no one at the Kingdom Hall ever offered any assistance with out practically begging them first. It was embarrassing to say the least. And it wasn't like they didn't know how poor we were. They would just smile with that look they have and say hope all is well with you and it is nice to see you at the meetin g. I thing that they didn't like my ex and didnt go regularly to the meetings cause I wasn't feeling well, but today I know why I really didn't go, I felt like no one ever really ever gave a dam. Yes the WTBS sounds like they are expert scam artists,my mother has already given the society thousands of dollars for the relief efforts of brothers and sisters in lands of disasters, My mother never gave me a dime and yet she knew how difficult it was for us. Where oh where is true loyality?? She still knows how difficult it is for me to make ends meet but she doesn't care and she has never cared. To me I have always asked myself is that how a true Christian is suppose to be like. And two of my sister have husbands that are wealthy. I have nevered asked them for a dime and they have never offered. So the Watchtower has made many a witness feel that they have got to give their wealth to them and the hell with their immediate family. Oh well. Listen to me I sound bitter, I guess a little but I try not to be. I am just disappointed in the narrow mindedness of witnesses. Sorry to sound off !!

) in the 19th century?
should a faithfull jw have anything to do with candles therefore?
S ome one should tell that elder so and so that candles have existed since the beginning of time. That elder must have been on some sort of power trip. My mother and sisters who are staunch JW.s they have their homes loadedd with candles and I have always too and no one has the right to infringe their so-called well meaning narrow-minded shit at anyone else. That elder was rude and mean to ruin that dear girls wedding. What nerve . I would have turned around and put them all back out again, just to spite him. I am seeing red.!!

Thanks to all who made me feel good about my post. I really didn't think much of it after I posted it. I remembered something after mouthy made a comment on toilet cleaning. Before the assembly in 1976 at the Big O we had to do a major cleaning of the dome. Anyway the sisters were assigned to washing the seats in the stadium and brothers were given toilet duty. I really didn't want to wash the seats as I much preferred the washing of toilets with the brothers as there was some real cute brothers that came for cleaning. So I asked the brother in charge if I could clean bathrooms with the brothers instead of the seats in the stadium. He looked at me strange like and smiled and said sure if you want to go ahead. And then he chuckled. It was a great evening of cavorting with the brothers and I had a great time and yes we did clean those filthy washroom toilets and stalls.
Mouthy this is for you dear. Andre Aveline's wife was Merle. They were very good and close friends of mine I would spend some weekends with them at their place in Lachine.
PS. Loved your toilet storry...I can see that happening to you!!

well, well , well ... guess what ... jws were at my door.
we talked for over an hour.
it has been about two years since i talked with a live jws as they did their door-to-door work ... yes, nbc dateline came up near the end of the conversation ... i could not let them get away without injecting that topic ... and when they gave the opening, i rammed it in .... first, has something happened to jws these day?
Amazing Jim, I hope sincerely you are watching your blood pressure, especially since your resent heart attack. Those two JW's would cause my blood pressure to explode a few notches. How dense can they be. And yes I think too how on earth could I have been like that myself once upon a time. Your presentation of logic was excellent.
It is quite interesting to see how many people in the WTBS have seen this Dateline programme and it has obviously caused a real stir in their mist.
I wish a JW would show up at my door. But they all know where I live so there is no chance in hell they will show up.

heard through the grapevine the other day that another member of my old congregation had decided they were not going to any more meetings.
this seems to be happening a lot lately.
i was wondering if this is a bit of a trend of late?
One of the old favourites in our area was the submarine Christians who only showed up around at C.O. visit and Memorial time. Just bobs up and down every now and then.
And the one about being in the middle of the congregtion where the embers were hot not like the embers that were around the outside of the fire cooling down.
i just heard on the news tonight that one of the chief advocates for jehovah's witnesses on the supreme court of canada has retired!
the honourable madame justice claire heureux dube has retired from the bench.
she began her career as an articling student for a montreal based law firm which was used by the society and the then very young glen how to defend them in the matters durrounding the actions of the very anti-jw premier (similar to the us governor) of quebec, maurice duplessis.
