  most HATED thing about the meetings ...

  hey ya'll ... ain't tuesdays, thursdays and sundays even better nowadays ?.

  i was wondering what it is that you hated most about the meets ?.

  the one thing that used to really rile me was the pressure to control the children - the frowns and the disapproving looks when they were just behaving like normal kids .... the worst of it all for me was seeing any little person being taken outside and hearing the loud slaps even when the door was closed .... what is it that you least miss ?

  i remember when i first started going, a mother would walk her 4 yr old to bathroom with wooden spoon in her hand,,,i was appaled (sp), and one really nice kind young man, bout 15, homeschooled, 5 kids in family, etc,,,was at local mega drug store,,,after service with service bag, etc,,,wanted so bad to have magazine on cars or something, he stole it,,,put in bag next to his wt mags,,poor kid,,was reproved,,,but even then more than welcome in my home as i knew he wanted to read about cars so bad,,,,

  tell me, please, do any of you know if there is any legal way to stop your x from taking your child in the door to door work,,,she is 10, doesnt want to go,,,her voice isnt strong enough yet to be heard..he gets her every second week and her mother has been out since she was about 3. this would be under canadian law also.

  Domestic Violence?

  has anyone ever addressed the incidence of domestic violence in witness families?

  i am relatively new here and don't want to cover old ground.. thinking back, i can name multiple examples of households in each congregation i attended where domestic violence was evident.. i have an active protective order against my ex.

  who is still active in the congregation he attends.

  well maybe i am the only one who has not been able to leave this style of life yet,,i am trying to,,but it is very difficult,,,it is normal to run to another abuser, and that is what i did, i am trying my best to get out,,but it is very difficult
  if you are able to chat with some in transition houses, they will tell you this is very normal,,,my only hindrance is my finances,,they will not allow me to leave just yet,,till then,,i just hang on

  gosh i would love to meet a man who would let me physically/emotionally abuse him, if only for 5 minutes,,,then i might begin to heal
  as my therapist is terrified i might go out and blow the head off of the next male i see due to the horrific abbuse i received from my husband

  this is something i am familiar with
  my x,,,ms,,,beat the royal crap out of me,,,
  next door neighbours were witnesses,,,said they dont have this going on in their family and dont know how to deal with it,,,so the ignored me,,dont know how,,half my face was on the ground
  x got 1 year in jail for it,,,and is still a practicing jw,,,
  i think i have worked through all the bitterness, anger, etc, except for that part that he is in good standing,,,he got married 12 hours after our divorce,,,,imagine,,,society tells you you cant date until you are divorced,,,so it must have been a very fast romance,,,,most of the elders, etc, stood behind him, and said i pushed him over the edge,,,hmm after 25 yrs marriage,,,i dont think so
  this was not the first time of abuse,,,,i had even called the elders in to help us,,,advise us,,told me to read the happiness book,,yeah right
