The writer has no idea the pain and suffering that the sign represents.
Perhaps if he read some of early 20th century issues of the Brookyln Eagle...
this journalist's love of the watchtower sign in brooklyn is a bit disturbing ... and weird.
i assume he was not raised a jehovah's witness, as the sign evokes fond memories for him seeing the sign's night glow of red showing the time and temp.
he takes pictures of the sign from multiple locations and angles as a "keepsake".
a friend of mine has contacts to a family with several circuit overseers and special pioneers.
they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.
they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?
The rumor from years ago on this forum seemed pretty credible and the arrangement to replace COs with locals seemed pretty logical. We shall see what we shall see. I am wondering what they will announce this Saturday at the annual meeting.
COs act as enforcement between the Branch and the local body of elders, I do wonder how they would maintain the same level of control of circuits without them.
I suppose since the advent of the Internet, much communication that used to need COs and now defunct DOs in the past can now be handled online.
a place that will bring you praise.

ok i want to pose a question to those who care to discuss this.. imagine a scenario.
you hear of a exjw writing a book, however, before writing this book this exjw is requesting money to publish said book.
you go along with it and help to get this book out to the public as you think that it will be beneficial.
did you have a plan to leave the organization?
i did.
it took a couple of years but we did leave and never had a desire to go back!.

editor's note: due to the nature of this story we've changed the names of the parties involved.
hi guys.
sooner or later we're going to get a jw knocking on our door.
just like when we were jw's doing the knocking, it's good to have a question prepared to get them thinking about their own beliefs.
it now appears that the wt can df you just by marking you.
this happened to my me and my wife a few week ago.
a marking talk was given at the mid-week meeting in which no names were mentioned yet a detailed description of the "offending bastards" was delivered so that there as no doubt who this "pond scum" might be.
are they pretty much left alone?
are they respected for their having been elders at one time?
are they treated like crap?.
