my partner has been diss-fellowshiped and out of jw stuff for just over ten years.
its my understanding that family and providing is an important key to any religon.
so why is it she classed as a bad association if she is family.
I mean this with the most sincerity and if I'm misunderstanding I offer an apology, but, your "partner" knows full well how it would be looked upon for you to go to a KH together.
I question why she'd want to expose you to that.
They are a very intolerant people.
it has come to my attention that a much-beloved poster on this forum has been hurt by the insensitivity shown toward her account of how badly she was treated by the wt.. i realize this is a place where are all welcome, and barring any posting guidelines violations, we are free to air our views without fear of any backlash.. however, please keep in mind that most posters here - yours truly being one of them - view the wt in a negative light.
with all the evidence out there pertaining to its deceitfulness, how can anyone view it otherwise?.

I think we need and should welcome the discourse afforded this place particularly that in defense of the organization. Their comments reflect perfectly the insensitivity and overtly legalistic view of that of the society and demonstrated better than anything else how warped this organization is.
it sucks.
lots of very talented people were just laid off at the company i work for.
lots of technology (software development) jobs going over seas.. i distinctly recall a meeting where leadership said, with a straight face, that jobs were not going to be sent overseas.
I guess I'm fortunate in that my IT job is solid, stable, and impossible to be sent to India unless they plan on flying Habib back and forth daily to care for the day to day issues that always arise that can't be done remotely.
I told a group of elders in my home once that we could talk bible subjects all day long, but that I wouldn't tolerate them using it to correct what they perceive as a weakness on my part or use it to coerce or browbeat me into anything.
They didn't like that I challenged their authority. Does that count as insulting them!

if you want to give the wts credit for anything, then at least give them credit for their remarkably simple solution to every ill suffered by mankind.. it is a "one size fits all" solution and might be part of the appeal the wts has attracting people who have a hard time with reason and common sense.. they won't specifically tell you what that solution is, though.
if they did, they would even get less converts than they get now, and currently they ain't gettin' many.
If only the WT could bottle that up and sell it?

in the 80's a very righteous elder in our congregation was caught molesting his 2 stepdaughters.
he was df'd.
within 5 years he was 60 miles down the road serving as an elder in another congregation.
Just pick out two or three of the nosiest most gossipy sisters in the congregation and send them a card with an attached article and picture of the perv and let the informal WT information service work it's magic.
...........or so my workmates think lol.

Always the announcement that there is a deficit in donations before lunch sundays before the end of the assembly.....Always....I've never been to an assembly that was more than one day long where they didn't announce a deficit. And they never include any overage from the last years assembly to use as an offset to this years.
Additionally, why are the R\F baseically "renting" assembly facilities their money has already paid for?
a jw called my wife to talk business yesterday, and voluntarily mentioned her son was living with them again.. now you have to understand, we have not associated with the jw's for 13 plus years.
so it took my wife by surprise that a jw, knowing our situation, would mention this.
but it gets better, there is more to this story.. she then volunteered, he's been living at home with them for over a year since.......bethel "re-assigned" him as she said sarcastically.. "how long was he at bethel?
She said, she is VERY discouraged and so his her husband. My wife asked, what about him? (Are not wives nice, always showing how much they care?)
"Very depressed. Doesn't talk much. And it's been over a year!"
Very discouraged, but not angry enough to verbalize it within the congregation no doubt.
As far as her "friends" are concerned, she can probably ba as angry as she like, as long as she bottle that sh$% up and check it at the door when she goes to the meeting.
