CO talk

we had our second co talk yesterday, the topic of which was loyalty, thinly veiled as to one another, but dripping with threats toward those who might go against the society.. after the usual drivel about the society being god's organisation, and appreciating their junk food (as an aside, has anyone actually vomitted up any of this "food"??

just wondering...), i was rudely dragged out of my slumber by the co's harsh declaration that we should shun all those who slipped away from the thruth, as they inactivity is a bad influence.

he went on to heap the blame on them, "if they feel this way, then they should expect their due", "they bring shunning onto themselves" etc.... has it always been this way?

Just another talk to try and stem the bleeding membership base in lands where the true information about them is free flowing. I'm by their definition inactive, but I refuse to play into the mindset that I owe them any explanation as to my decision not to go to meetings, or field service, or to assume the stigma of any one of their self-serving labels. They can JC me if they want, at this point I don't care as it will be a meeting I will not acknowledge nor attend.

The only card they have to play against me is my wife since she still attends very infrequently some of those indoctrination sessions. But I've made peace with the fact that although I do love her, I will start over if I have too. I have seen too many of my JW in-laws who have imprisoned themselves in unhappy and destructive marriages afraid to do anything about it for fear of what the borg will think. I will not live like that. I'm still a relatively young man working in an industry with a lot of earning potential. If she choose to follow the KH Elders, she'd better be ready for them to step up and pay all her bills too.

I'm currently gathering any information about them being in bed with the UN so that if they ever try to come after me, I can blow their blatant hipocrisy out the water for all my JW relatives to see.

Continued . . . My husband is stepping down -elder

over a week ago i shared that my husband was stepping down as an elder last wednesday.. well, for all those inquiring minds that want to know, my husband's efforts were a total bust.

first he talked to one elder who adamantly refused to accept his resignation.

he encouraged and demanded that he stay.

Now that's rich....

The WT so arrogant to think that they have to bestow "permission" for an adult member to have to do anything not directly related to the organization. Goes to show that they only have as much control as you're willing to give them.

Were any divorced over oral sex?

let me explain:.

in times past, the society's policy was that a witness mate could divorce their mate who demanded or had them perform oral sex and persisted with their views.. later the policy was revised to mean a witness mate could divorce their mate who had oral sex with someone.....outside of the marriage.. are there any here who had this experience with the old arrangement, or do you know of any cases in which this happened?.

my reason for asking is, i wonder how many lives were ruined by another wt blunder.

What about the ones that go off and screw their best freinds wife, both get DF'd and six months to a year later are reinstated?....

I witnessed this first hand in the first congregation I attended. A ministerial servant ran off with an elders wife. When their DF was announced there was hugs all around for the innocent parties and their kids. Word was that the guilty parties moved away to another state married and were eventually reinstated back into a local congregation.

The innocent parties? Well they showed up walking together hand in hand at a circuit assembly later that year. Guess there was no reason why they shoudn't have gotten together.

I think they should've just cut out all the intermediary drama and swapped.

How do I know this happened? Well, those so called discreet elders couldn't wait to get home and tell their wives, who in turn told a couple of discreet pioneer sisters, who then blabbed to everyone else.

My mom's circuit was disbanded

well, i found out yesterday that the circuit that my mother attends will cease to exist as of this summer.

the circuit has existed pretty much since the beginning of time.

due to low attendance, and gradual drying up of all jw's in rural saskatchewan, they are closing one or two congregations every year.

Take a headset with a CD player. It will look like your hearing impaired and your tuning in but you can play your favorite music/book.

Or better yet, take a headset with radio functions. At least then when you get tired of listening to the same old CD or book, you can listen to the game.

That is if you choose to let their visit bully you into going to the meetings at all. Your house....your rules.....

It just boggles my mind how much devotion these people give without question to those 12 old men. Not just that, but also to DO's, CO,s and Elders too.

That must be some ego trip to be equal to GOD in the eyes of 6 million people.

in view of jehovah's willing ness to forgive sins by the merit of the ransom sacrifice, why is it necessary for christians to confess to the older men in the congregation?

as can be seen in the case of david and bath-sheba, jehovah forgave david's sin, grave though it was, because of david's genuine repentance.

Skillfull elders can do much to ease the pain of the heart that is caused by the remorsefull sinner.

How many here would classify the *cough*cough*counsel*cough*cough given by most of the elders making up the WT as skillful? Seem to me they were professionally trained by the Society to parrot the party line. Every advice being laced with pray about it more, do more, more, more, more which is only beneficial securing the base of that big pyramid. Basically the same advice you'd get at an Amway or Primerica seminar.

How many found the REAL truth from the internet?

if it was'nt for the internet i would still be stuck in the endless cycle of drone like meeting attendance and field service.

(technically i'm still in but not for long) i'm really glad that some ex-jws took the time to speak about the real truth.

for the longest time i always thought that what i was taught was correct, i never even felt the need to question it or validate it with actual facts.

I understand what you mean. I was warned over and over again by family but I refused to listen. Soon after I was dunked I started seeing first hand the hipocrisy and double dealing that goes on within the WT. The elder I was studying with all of a sudden had more important things to attend to and passed me off to someone else. I guess with me being baptised his yearly quota of providing baptismal candidates was fulfilled. As time went by I saw more and more control of my life being relinquished to what looked good for the image of the society and the congregation. Every decision, however minor, was strained through the conscious of the congregation. It got to the point where I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wipe my a$$ up or down !

Another relative was always bitter because he felt that he was forced into baptism to protect his elder father's image in the congregation. A sibling of this relative brought up 1975 time and time again. I finally stumbling upon this site around December of last year, at which during that time, the expose on the WT\UN connection was raging. This secret association between the WT\UN once and for all convinced me that the WT is the pinnacle of hipocrisy. I'm currently documenting information and waiting for the right opportunity to bring this issue up to my other JW relatives and watch them squirm.

I imagine that during this years district assemblies there will be yet another long drawn out talk about guarding against negative association, independent thought, and above all staying away from potentially apostate sites on the internet. The free flow of information I hope will spell doom for cult organizations such as the WT that use fear and intimidation to keep people in check. Those inside will just have to have the guts to check things out for themselves instead of being forcefed watchtower spiritual garbage.
