At what point would the average witness start to question their beliefs?

would it be after this "system" continued on and on and on, knowing armageddon hasn't happened.

how about the issue of love, the fact that it isn't as great as they claim .

at what point would the masses start wondering ' hum, maybe nothing is coming after all'.

My mom called a few minutes ago...

i was sitting here typing a post when i heard the "new message" tone come from my phone.

i played the message and it was none other than my mom.. "hi, this is mom... i'll talk to you later.

i wonder why she decided to call.

For a different 'twist', my mother told me that "If I didn't get out of the Witnesses, she was going to quit talking to me"!

What did you actually enjoy about JW meetings?

as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.

3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

I enjoyed the phone call from the presiding overseer before the meeting that said, I guess we will have to cancel the meeting tonight, the snow storm looks like it really going to be a bad one!

PS I finally sold the snow making machine just last week to some ski lodge.

When I stopped going to the meetings, one Elder came to my business and asked me why I did not follow the Bible's admonition.....to not forsake the gathering of ourselves together (go to the meetings).

I asked him why he did not follow the Bible either. When was the last time he greeted any Brother with a 'holy kiss'?

so there i was, entering the grocery store.

i walked in at the doors and they have the racks of free newspapers,.

.....there they were, awakes, half a dozen or so.

If you threw hundreds away every day they would still get counted on someones 'Field Service Report'. Thats one of the reasons them reports aren't worth a crap!

Let's have a little contest as to who can throw the most away in any given month. The winner should be sent a dollar by each person on the 'Board' for a prize. Be honest though, or God will get you! Ha.

Got a visit from JW's yesterday

i should have known that on a beautiful saturday morning that dubs we be crawling the neighborhood.

we've been living in this neighborhood for about a year and a half and we are usually home on saturdays.

this was the first visit we?ve gotten from them.
