  Knocking on Doors on Holidays

  did anyone else's congregation "strongly encourage" this practice?

  when i was a worshiping rusell.... jehovah.

  i felt sick to my stomach and disgusted that these people had absolutely no consideration for the beliefs or practices of others.

  the door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.

  in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.

  in thinking about the song i saw mommy (mummy, england) kissing santa claus last night underneath the 'mistletoe', i wonder if daddy would have been laughing if he had saw it?.

  in lieu of flowers, donations made to the world wide work of jehovah's witnesses would be appreciated by the family.. anybody ever seen a witness family do this before?

  i saw it in an obit in a newspaper online and it made me sick!

  most people ask for donations to non-profit organizations that help fight disease like cancer, etc.

  My ex-brother-in-law had a notice in his obituary about his miltary service even though he was a JW because, as I understand it, there is some monetary advantage to doing so. It provides some funds for the burial expense to be a veteran.

  I briefly met him once in Chicago. He and I were the only ones on the elevator going up to the restaurant at the top! Seemed like a nice guy! I didn't ask him if he knew anything about the 144,000!

  JWs in Field Service Today--Christmas.

  i guess the local kh is doing a special field service outing today, which my wife will be a part of...on christmas morning.

  i think this is intrusive and disrespectful.. did any of you do fs on christmas?.

  is this a common thing among jws?

  They need to do this to fulfill the prophesy about 'being persecuted for righteousness sake'. And sure enough people get very mad at them, knocking on their doors Christmas morning!

  Works also on New Year's Morning, Memorial Day at the gravesites, etc., etc.

  They just gotta be the 'True Religion'!

  actually, there is great benefit to not celebrating any holidays by the watchtower.

  all the bethel workers worldwide have to work on them days and so the slavery goes on with no one questioning it!.

  oh for a day off!.
