That's probably why Christians go to church, because they know they need help and advice, and need to learn how to be better people.

christians are hypocrites.
christians, they love to talk about how loving, dutiful and compassionate they are, yet i have yet to meet one who does not practice hypocrisy to the highest degree.
their willful ignorance of the bible combined with their two faced idealism to preach it, has made us sick, hasnt it?

a parrot has some surprizing things to say.
part of my suspicion that consciousness and intelligence is distributed.
I asked my dog, "Whats on top of the house?" and he said, "Roof". I also asked him, "How does sandpaper feel?" and he said, "Rough". So it appears to me, he can talk!

is god's love so wonderful that he will save everyone?
even satan and his dark angels?
Hey, Flying High Now..................Don't you know that everyone from/living in Michigan are Bible believing, evangelical Christians, that always vote 'Republican'? I know, I lived there! Ha, Ha, just kidding! So, don't disgrace our great State....

I personally feel God's 'Grace' is probably greater than we expect or can imagine! However, I do not think that all persons will be saved as many Scriptures would have to be ignored or deleted for that to happen!

"finally church politics in the episcopal church, which i joined in 2001, became too much for me to handle early in 2004. i began studying christian apologetics more intensely, debating doctrine and looking to sources outside the church.
my christian peers' response to my questions was for me to read more books by christian authors.
as i looked at the hypocrisy and backstabbing that was going on in the church, i stopped going to church after 2 1/2 years of near perfect attendance...".
I think that might be the key or reason for espousing atheistism, namely what your said, 'it....does not require submitting .........to a diety (God).

we have various types of people on this board, some believers in god, others atheists, some agnostics, and others still jw's at heart.. in your opinion, what do you believe happens to a person one minute after they die?
how about if they are good or bad?.

the latest from brooklyn ( my mate in upper management ) i thought id share.. .
the watchtower is remaining bi monthly.
instead of both monthly offerings sharing same formats there is a change coming into action soon.
The average 'Give Them Hell' articles written for the rank and file, never could be understood by the public and sometimes made them look like idiots. So, yes, a special edition for the public is in order and can be offered for the whole month, because nobody reads them anyway.

after not embracing many of the key practices of the witnesses (since 1995), i find it hard to fit into society in some ways.
pre-generation change, i was reading the bible to justify celebrating my sons 3rd b-day.
i knew of the common examples cited by the society, but wanted more.
Well, I'm sure all of us carry some sort of 'baggage' with our ingrained Watchtower values. The problem is sorting them all out as to what is Godly and what is not.
I presently do not celebrate Halloween and probably never will. Some entertainment is still a big 'NO'. But most other Holiday's, yes, yes, yes. A time for family bonding, showing love and concern etc.

less then two years ago my cousin, who was then 39, was working on his parents home and found he was having a hard time hammering in nails.
he would hit the nail, but as hard as he would try, he would end up making it crocked and he could not control it.
he thought this was weird, and decided to visit a doctor.
A close friend in Michigan just died a few weeks back from the disease. Also, he went very fast. From healthy, riding bikes to wasting away to nothing in just a couple of months.
