Is there a big conspiracy to keep you poor?
by Mindchild inwhen i was a witness, i often heard that if you left the trooth that you would become rich fast, have gratuitous sex constantly, become a drug addict and end up worshipping satan.
man am i disappointed!!
it seemed for the longest time that there was a giant conspiracy to keep me a poor working stiff just above the poverty line, especially so when i was going to college full time.

Why The WTS *IS* To Blame re. Laree
by ISP inthe wts will condemn the recent murder and do its best to distance itself from the parents.
jws will say its the actions of people who are deranged and nothing to do with jws.
they will say other religious groups harm children.

Hey Farkel,good to see you on the board again.I agree with you that "sweeping generalizations" won`t get us anywhere.I do believe WTBS provides a forum that allows for this and other tragedys to happen,whether it is meant or not.As they take no action to make sure this or other atrosities don`t happen again(usualy they just look for some way to cover their ass),I believe they bear some responsability..Respectfully...OUTLAW

Do You Still Believe a God Cares for You?
by JosephAlward ini've been a part of this forum for about one month, and during that time i've been struck by the willingness of many so former jehovah witnesses either to ridicule the bible, or to stand by while it's being ridiculed.
so, i'm wondering how many of them while witnesses suffered through experiences so searing that they no longer believe in the god of the old testament.. who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?.
