My husband was baptised at 12, pioneering at 13. He's still in but will openly admit that being baptised that young in just plain wrong and he wasn't capable of making such an important decision at that age.

At what age can a JW be baptised in the UK?
by jwfacts ini just received an email from an unbaptised publisher that made the following comment;.
in the uk the age of consent by law for a child is 16 and only then can they be baptized of their own free will.
is anyone aware of jws that have been baptised younger than 16 in the uk?.

Breastfeeding in Bathrooms...
by cognac inthe natick, ma assemble hall used to have it's own room for breastfeeding mothers.
they changed this room to the accounting room or something like that and now have seats available for breastfeeding inside the bathroom.. there is one other small room available for breastfeeding but they close that off when the baptism is going on.
needless to say, i used to get so pissed off that they actually wanted me to breastfeed in the bathroom that i would threaten to a brother that i would take my boob out in front of everybody and that is there problem because breastfeeding in a bathroom is unsanitary.. one year they put me in some backroom.

I've heard that at the local district convention the brothers have kindly allowed the nursing mothers to use the jail cells usually reserved for match day trouble makers. That says it all really. There's no way I'm feeding my baby in there.
I breastfed my baby in my seat throughout the last circuit assembly, just daring anyone to say something. He was having a growth spurt and feeding constantly and I wasn't going to make him wait while I traipsed to the mothers and babies room every hour. I have to go to the dreaded district convention in a few weeks and will be doing the same. It's getting harder to breastfeed in public now that baby is a little older because he's easily distracted and will unlatch and take a look around without any notice. I try my best to be discreet but I imagine a few people will get an eyeful if they're staring. Not much I can do about that. Maybe my family will be embarrassed enough to let me stay home the rest of the weekend. -

by nochoice inour congregation is rationing regular bibles like they're gold bars.
i was told that bethel is out of stock!

No bibles in my local congregation in the uk either. They've been on order since Oct 2012. According to the literature servant it's due to a broken down press in Japan.

New MS - Looking for the "better" job
by nochoice inlong, long time lurker and great fan of the site - first time poster.
i am not sure if i am truly a lurker since that implies i am apostate-curious.
in fact, i have been mentally out completely for a long time, but still physically in like many of you.

TMS Assistant? Never even heard of it!?! We have a sister with learning difficulties that gets the 'priviledge' of handing out slips in our hall.
Welcome Nochoice, don't feel you have to o anything that you don't want to do.

Thanks to everyone on this forum!
by cedars intoday is my first anniversary as a jwn member.
it's hard to believe that only a year has passed since i joined, but i feel that's a testament to how much i have been welcomed and made to feel like part of the furniture.. i would very much like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on the forum for the immense help and assistance i have received, particularly in my first few weeks/months of posting.
it truly was a lifeline at a very distressing time for me.

New Light on Blood Fractions
by The Searcher infrom the hlc - not a letter from hq - why not?it is felt that because people don't know what to accept and what to say 'no' to, brothers and sisters are saying 'no' to everythying, and this is just wrong!they want brothers to know that not only is blood sacred, but also life is sacred.
the implication is, that if you say no to fractions, you could be viewing life as not sacred, and that if you do not have a good reason that you can explain, you should not say 'no' to things.
and they are no longer using the term "blood fractions" - they are to be called "blood derivatives", because the substance is so small.whatever happened to leviticus 17:13?

I posted a thread recently saying the same thing after I heard about HLC meeting held locally. Interesting that it seems that the same meeting is being held all over the place with the same outline.

Quick, the elders are coming to the house! Hide that!
by bronzefist inwhat did you have to hide from the elder's sight if they came to your house?.

I once had an elder use my bathroom and then criticise me for having some toiletries that had come from a hotel room.
