A bib, eh? Truly, to me it looked just like dear old Rev. Wullschleger's velvet-collared, pastoral robes! (I wasn't always a Dub.) It reminded me of how the Judgment Day scenario in JWdum is now more in line with mainstream Protestantism and left me wondering if Mr. Barber's "robes" were an indication of just how much the GB had shifted!

Driving south from Hopi country back through the Painted Desert and into the San Franciso Mountains around Flagstaff smelling the Ponderosa Pines! A feast for the eyes and nose and heart!

Well, I may be wrong, but I think that metatron's mention of the blood doctrine being dropped from the new "Worship" may have had this as its point:
Isn't it necessary for new converts to study both the "Knowledge" book and the "Worship" book in preparation for baptism? Therefore, dropping the chapter on the blood doctrine is one more way that the Society is deceitful to newcomers, who will be able to say to objecting/opposed worldly family members that blood is NOT an "issue" (since it hasn't even come up in their studies?) when, in fact,
a/ the entire blood doctrine and the information in Advance Medical Directives on newly-allowed diverse components and treatments is VERY confusing to most Witnesses?
b/ The majority of Witnesses will still tell you that they do NOT accept blood as it is against Bible teachings? And Hospital Liaison Committee members are still going around telling hospital personnel on hospitalized Witnesses' behalf that no blood should be administered?
c/ The Society has been prosecuted as a cult in several countries because of the stance on blood and the resulting deaths (usually of children). Thus, they have been forced to soften said stance in court testimony and, perhaps, deemed it prudent to leave the doctrine out of recent publications in order to be able to continue as a tax-exempt religion in some of those places?
My viewpoint is that the Society does NOTHING by chance. It purposefully makes changes to reflect its best interest -- and that is NOT often in the best interest of its adherents.

Good morning, dear people!Thank you VERY much for your continued support. ((((Sally)))) Thinking of you, too!
I am feeling more energetic this week, but still not in top form. I was glad to get the second red blood cell booster yesterday. Also, I have edema in my left hand, which is freaking me out a bit. So far, I am just squeezing a racquetball to help what lymph glands I have left on that side to move the fluid up and out of my arm. It works, temporarily, but then the swelling begins again. Grrrrrrrrr!
((((Robyn)))) Thank you for remembering to ask for help for me each Thursday. All I can say about my "endurance" is that if I don't have something to look forward to, I'll crack up. It's that simple. So I MUST spend some time this fall working towards my future, and all of the classes I'm taking should be relatively easy ones for me. I've made myself an easy schedule, too: No early mornings, no late nights, classes M-W-F so I have Tuesdays and Thursdays free plus the weekend to recuperate.
I am so very grateful for your love, prayers, vibes and work, everyone! Blessings on all of you!
Love,
Brenda

DIMPLES Update
by Dimples inwell, i finally found out what is wrong with me.
my shoulder has been killing me for a good reason.
i saw an orthopedic doctor and he said he thought the problem was actually from my neck and not my shoulder.

((((Dimples)))))
OUCH!!!!! I've had a disc rupture on me, and it's not a pretty thing! It was my lower back, not the neck, but I am commiserating nonetheless!
How will they be immobilizing your head/neck/spine? Talk to the surgeon about this in advance, because you want to make sure s/he makes the smallest incisions possible with good plastic surgery techniques afterwards if you need what I think they call a halo. A beautiful woman I know had really nasty scars, but I think it was because the surgeon was old and his technique dated. Ask to see pictures of his/her work.
You will feel SO much better post-op you cannot even imagine! It is a miracle of modern medicine, truly, being able to free the nerve and space the vertebrae properly.
Good Luck!

Ouija boards Do you feel they are real or not?Any personal experiences?
by Ticker ini've had several expereiences with ouija boards, some interesting, some disturbing, and as skeptical as i try to be i have to admit i have seen it personally say things and do things that i can not logically explain.
some say its your sub-conscience, some say its spirits, others say its demons.
i am just wondering if any of you have had experiences with the ouija board, what they were, and what you believe about them, supernatural or just another simple amusement?

Well, I don't believe it's "all in the mind" at all!
I was in about fourth grade when I used a Ouija board with some neighborhood friends. We were prepubescent, but interested in horses and horsebackriding as much as boys and the Beatles (<-- showing my age!).
Anyway, as in Mulan's case, the Ouija board told me the name of my future husband and also where we would live. At the time, I had a romantic idea that I would one day move to Denver, where I would have a ranch and lots of horses, especially Paints. Unfortunately, try as I might to influence the name of the city where I would live while married to "D-E-N-V-E-R", the board insisted on "D-E-T-R-O-I-T." I had NO idea why and was sorely disappointed. Didn't fit my plans!
Also, the board stopped at the letter "B" for the name of my future husband. Wouldn't budge. Years later, when I was 19 and had just returned from school in Europe, a psychic who was "rented" for a party I'd been invited to, told me that there was a man whose name began with a "B" who was important in my life. At the time, I thought, well, sure: My father and my brother were both "Bob" and I even had dated two Bobs before I went away to school. But she claimed it was not the Bobs or Roberts, definitely just a "B". I met my future husband a month or so later.
My husband of 26 years was named "Baltasar" but was known professionally, socially, and even in his nuclear family as "B," since Baltasar is a strange name in North America. He's an auto executive and we moved to Detroit a year after we'd married and have lived in the Detroit area for 20 of the past 27 years.
So, to me, it works and its power is uncanny. I wish I'd known of Randi's proposition and recorded that info when I was 10!
