  Child Abuse and Neglect Investigation

  Utah law requires any person who has reason to believe that a child has been subjected to abuse, neglect, or dependency to immediately notify the nearest office of Child and Family Services, a peace officer, or a law enforcement agency. Abuse, neglect, or dependency of a child can be physical, emotional, or sexual.

  Child Protective Services is a required service offered to all Utah residents by Child and Family Services. When a child is reported as being abused or neglected, child protection social workers are required by law to make a face-to-face contact with the child and determine if abuse, neglect, or dependency occurred.

  Weary -- what is your relationship with your brothers? Could they be of help to you with advice on how they deal with your parents and by relating the feelings they had to deal with once they left? Or have they, too, bought into "I got what I deserved because I'm not serving Jehovah as the Society says I should"?

  last night i was at a friends house (ex-witnesses).

  they faded several years ago, much to her parents and her children's annoyance.

  her parents live out west but were coming to toronto for a visit.

  No matter how many times I read these stories, I still keep getting sick to my stomach with disgust.

  What kind of religion inspires its members to turn upon their own families? Not one. Only cults do. To me, this is now the litmus test: OK to love people even if you dislike/disapprove of their lifestyle=religion. OK to cut people when you dislike/disapprove of their lifestyle=cult. Period.

  God/dess/Source/Love/Light/Universe is bigger than that.

  So sorry for your friend, Mary. Would it help her to come here to vent?

  Our Puppy did not make it.

  well after going to bed early for it has been a long day i was awaken by my fourteen year old and she was crying for the vet just called and the puppy i got them two weeks ago just died.

  the breeder was at an expo at city hall and they all gave me those "mom i am going to die if i don't have her" looks till i forked over money i did not have for this lil baby beagle.

  we brought her home and i thought my she must be so tired for she slept a lot the first day.

  By all means, I'd demand my money back from the breeder. Threaten to take out ads anywhere the breeder presently advertises telling your tale if s/he doesn't pay up, mentioning the dangers to which s/he exposed the other animals present at the exp. What irresponsibility!!!

  But first, take care of yourself. You have a big week coming up.

  Getting married next week!

  yes folks, i'm headed to hawaii this sunday and while we're there, we plan to tie the knot, barefoot on the beach.

  for those of you who don't know, my ex-wife left me when i couldn't support the wtb&ts anymore a few years back.

  i hate living alone....lisa and i have been together for a year now and she's just like mary poppins..."practically perfect in every way"!

  Mom Died -- and I found out from an old friend!

  ok, i'm writing this thru tears as i just found out in the last 5 minutes.

  my dad died in august, and they had been together just 1 or 2 weeks over 70 years married!

  i didn't expect her to last without him, and visa versa.. i just tried to call my sister, and no answer there.

  This hurts so much, I know, and I'm terribly saddened reading this thread. Perhaps it's the perspective of those who have come face to fact with their own mortality, but I agree with Ian: You are such a wonderful embodiment of the love that powers the Universe!

  Grieve now as you must, but please try to remember that phrase "Righteous Indignation," and write your letters accordingly. And do, please, GLORY in the fact that your parents now know what you've known all these years: that God has no "organization" and that the only thing that matters is love. Forgiveness is difficult and will take time to manifest, but you can achieve it.

  I'll be thinking of you.

  Gumby needs our prayers

  about 5 months ago gumby had a knee operation, it never healed and the doctors here suck in a big way.

  so yesterday he and his wife went south to get a second opinion and maybe get this knee surgery healed up.

  so if you got it in you please pray for his speedy recovery and healing.

  Well, I'm not on here that often, so I got to read the request and Gumby's response all at once. I'm glad that things are healing up, Gumby, and will add my prayers to the others'.

  Prayer IS powerful--I've been so blessed by the prayers of others-- but I don't call God "Jehovah" anymore. That just sticks in my craw and brings unpleasant associations to mind.

  Not good, not good at all

  hi guys,.

  sorry to burden you all with this but i really have no one that i want to talk about this with, i'm afraid that i will burst into tears and wont be able to stop if i call any of my friends and tell them what's going on.

  my little sister has been ill with a fever for three weeks, her doctor kept telling her it was just a bad case of the flu and that she had an ear infection, he gave her antibiotics and sent her home.
