Blondie-- Bravo! You know I do not usually read your work, but in the rare instance that I do, I am always impressed. ... I particularly enjoyed this comment: "Near at hand....Those in the WTS have only been waiting 128 years...Noah only waited 120." ...I read today's article because of Mulan's Aunt's insistence on its importance. Personally, I felt like I was in a time warp -- that nothing had changed since I attended my last meeting approximately 6 years ago. ... So much for the light "getting brighter and brighter"! Love and warm regards to Irrev, Brenda

Label the act for returning to JWism for family only (e.g. Gumby)
by UnConfused ini think it's a deserving act of love to make the sacrifice to rejoin a cult in order to stay connected to your family.
it's putting your love of your family over so so many things.
what could we call it so we could easily understand someone's actions who also does this?

I like "Gumborging" too, because it's an active verb form, rather than a modifier, to wit: "XXXX just gumborged...We'll miss him/her." "I'm thinking of gumborging, I miss my children SO much!" "To gumborg or not to gumborg, THAT is the question" -- out

My old KH had a personal visit from me today!
by moshe ini was on business in the area of my old congregation ( i live out of state)- the one i first got baptized in back in 1973. they were just getting started on their discussion before service- it was 9:03 am and i just impulsively turned into the parking lot and decided to pay them a surprise visit.
i just walked into the kh and looked at them for 30 seconds.
i didn't recognize anyone and finally they asked me what i wanted.

((((CBB)))) In the same vein as Abandoned (great thoughts, btw) and MegaDude, I just watched a DVD where Jack Canfield, one of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" authors, was talking about how a car traveling through the night could traverse the entire country by only seeing the 200 ft. or so ahead that the headlights illuminated. But the driver trusted that the road went on and that the goal of the journey could be accomplished. Try getting past your 200 ft. at a time, and you will accomplish amazing things! outnfree

Otherwise Engaged...
by LittleToe injust a little breaking news:.
after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.
last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..
