Hello, there, Mario!
I seldom post anymore, either, but am happy to see that you are well. I've just graduated university and am looking for work as a French teacher, so I am very jealous to see that you have spent such a lovely long time in France!
Have a wonderful rest of the summer and all my best to you,
Brenda

Coming to a KH near you...the generation/new light WT
by Mickey mouse innext weekend congregations around the world will be studying the wt article on the new definition of a "generation".. i would think there will be an epidemic of cognitive dissonance.
this must be the first time there has been a change of doctrine on a singular topic twice in 13 years.
for those still in like me, use the opportunity to get your partner thinking..

"2008 brand: Generation = Annointed living from Jesus' time down thru our time."
What is appalling to me is that born-in Witnesses will have NO IDEA that this notion of an "anointed" or "elect" group "living from Jesus' time down thru our time" is just what horrible, ugly, misguided, old Christendom teaches!!!
Christendom has always questioned the JW belief in a literal 144,000 anointed ones sharing with Christ in the rule over Jehovah's New Earth. For there to have only been 144,000 faithful elect in 2008 years means there was an average of only 71 anointed Christians worldwide per year! Is this even plausible? How many true Christians were living when Christ called them "this generation"? If one starts doing the math -- subtracting the current [increasing] number of "anointed ones" exceeding 8,000 living in these "Last Days" the yearly average drops even lower. But will loyal JWs even do the math?
This has me curious enough -- how it all will be explained to the lowly sheep -- that I might just go to the Kingdumb Hall next Sunday!

by oompa incan't everyone just put this one item on their profile before posting.

Definition of a Fundamentalist
by outnfree ini subscribe to something called monday9am.tv - short films and stories about life and the human spirit (found at http://www.monday9am.tv/) and wanted to share the definition of a fundamentalist given in today's film short by author seth godin: .
"a fundamentalist is person who considers whether a fact is acceptable to their faith before they explore it.
he contrasts this with a curious person, which he defines as one who "explores first, and then considers whether or not they want to consider the ramifications.

Homerovah, that's too funny! And too true...
Godin posits that it's actually difficult to be truly curious -- because school, for example, discourages one from being too curious. (I think because there's a certain curriculum to be gotten through.)
I agree that it's difficult. I feel that I am on the path to curious, but that I falter sometimes. At least, however, I am heading in a direction that is freeing.
waves back at Hill. What you don't care to explore--might that have something to do with the odors of rotting flesh and certain foods? ;D -

Happy New Year to all!
I only learned that some people eat black-eyed peas for New Year's this morning. Is it just Texans, southerners, or what?
Danes eat pickled herring and bang pots and pans to chase away evil spirits at midnight. My Aunt made her kids eat at least a bite of the herring ever year, but my mother, her sister, never forced us to try it -- although she always ate some. This year, I actually went out and bought a small jar and I plan to swallow at least one bite in honor of my deceased mother and Danish grandparents. Maybe with my mature palate I'll actually ENJOY the herring?

I am having a bad day
by Vivamus init is wearing me down.. my constant companion in life, my skull-breaking- mind-blowing- daily migraines finally got the better off me six months ago.
i broke down, i cried and cried and cried.
not only cuz of the pain, but more for the fact that painkillers were not helping me anymore.

(((((Viv))))))
I am sorry to hear of your pain and that you are so desperate. I used to have hormonal migraines nearly every month of my child-bearing years. Now that I'm post-menopausal, I get the rare horrible headache, but nothing in comparison to the migraines.
I have also been in psychotherapy, learning to deal with grief and loss and to lose the automatic tendency to assume that I can somehow fix whatever is going wrong around me or help whoever else around me that is in pain (while ignoring my own needs).
I do think stress exacerbates migraine. I have had my moments of crying on the shower floor from pain and frustration because others could not pity me or empathize with my condition.
I wish you all good luck in getting to the root of your migraines' cause. I wish you complete surcease sooner rather than later.
I will send out what healing thoughts I can as you have done for me in the past.
Hugs,
out
