  Door To Door

  my father a ms told me several months ago that jw's no longer do "regular door to door witnessing".

  he told me this as i said to him i cannot remember the last time i saw a jwitness at my door which was unusual.. has anyone any answers to this?.

  Anyhow, hope you enjoy your stay here.

  Your pa is not correct about the witnessing thing. The Borg are still encouraging/requiring field service. But they don't seem as zealous these days. When you say "I cannot remember the last time I saw a Jwitness at my door which was unusual", we seldom see the Dubs in our area; probably only twice in the past four years. My neighbour's found the same, too. Oh dear, are the "waters" of support drying up? I thought that was supposed to happen to Babylon the Great!

  ihardly ever look at h2o now that all the interesting posters are here, but i took a look today for old time's sake: how utterly changed the place has become!

  What about the scriptural obligation to preach?

  i've always been taught that each disciple of christ has a scriptural obligation to preach, and to do so in imitation of jesus and his disciples.

  they did this by house to house, in synagogues, and in the marketplaces.

  this is one thing that has always kept me close to jehovah's witnesses.

  G'day lookingnow,

  Here in Australia, some of the mainstream churches have been showing strong growth in recent years. I've read in the Sydney Morning Herald that the Anglican Church is at the forefront of increases in New South Wales. Also the Baptist church. Who'd have believed it? There is a church called Hillsong which has thousands attending, and other Christian Life Churches likewise are full for several services each Sunday.

  All withour door-to-door witnessing! But they do preach God's Word. "The sheep will hear my voice" our Lord said.
