Welcome to the board. This is a great place to be. You can learn things about stuff you never knew you had questions about.

its my first post and i don't really know where to start, there been so much on my mind.
i've been reading threads on this site like crazy and obtained a copy of coc from the library yesterday.
i stayed up until 4am reading it, and i'm impressed with the way it was written - its just like reading a w only the subject matter is a little different hehe.. i'll break myself in gently with this site over time but basically a few things about me are: born in a jw family, baptized as a young teen, 1 yr aux pio, several yrs as reg pio, 1 year as 'special' full time pio at bethel.

i love to read everyone's post , although i dont get to reply as much as i want , too many kids here hogging the computer ....lol.
but still, my heart aches when others hurt, going thru painful things in life, and i my heart is happy when i hear great news that each of you have.
it is not always easy to open up and tell what you might be going thru at any given time, but so many just go ahead and do it,,,,,that helps so many..... more than you will know.
Happy V-Day to everyone too. Don't forget to show a little love to yourself today too.

as many of you know, last year i wrote a science fiction novel.

my novel has been released!
I am so happy for you. That is also one of my dreams. I can't wait to get to read you book.
Congrats.

maverick brought out a good point a few days ago, and i quote.
"you know what dustyb, we should all go back!
can you imagine what would happen if all "apostates" everywhere went to the k-hall next sunday?
Man, someone might actually have fun at a meeting.
No wait! that would bring the end of the world.
Pam
do any of you have witness parents?
if so, how do you deal with them?
i'm not fealing really great about the way everything has turned out.
My mom is a long time jw, about 36 or so years. We have a very careful relationship. She hints at meeting stuff and I ignore it. Sometimes though she says things that I just can't stand, like she expects her youngest grandchildren will never become adults, that God will kill them. That made me so angry. Why would anyone want to worship a God that was going to kill her grandchildren. Of course, she said my oldest would never go to grade school. He is 20 now, and about to enlist in the army. (my mom took that news very well.) My youngest sister is a holier than thou jw, and I can't stand her. I go out of my way not to speak to her. When ever she opens her mouth, stupidity falls out. She married a total stranger when she was 19 or 20 because he was the only jw single man around. They have such a (gag) great marriage!!! After all they are in the 'truth'. I try hard to speak to my mom, and show her respect, but sometimes it has hard.

on monday at 2 pm, my grandmother peacefully passed away at the age of 100. .
her last words was when she was straining to see something that we couldn't see and she said, "roy???
" (my grandfather) and then she said, "mom???
I am so sorry to hear your sad news. I lost my grandmother too many years ago. I know how lonely it can make you feel. Take care of yourself.

Hi Blondie,
I love your reviews, it is one of the reasons I read the board on weekends. Reading that makes me remember the years I spent knocking myself out going to people's doors. I never expected to help anyone, I just wanted other people in the congregation to like me, and to accept me. That was asking too much as I had been df and no one ever forgave me. Just reading about service brings back all that anxiety. I am so glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. I can see the guilt my mom and sister have over service. They never go, but know they should. My sister is even talking about pioneering again (but I think that is so she does not have to get a real job).
Thanks again,
Pam
woohoo what a lovely lady.. we were able to meet yesterday before estee went back home from her holiday here.
i tried to get in touch with nos and we were sorry to miss him.
we had a lovely long talk (her friend joined us).
Oh! I'm jealous. I would love to met some of the people from here. It is so much fun to meet people you only know from the internet. I once met Grace (mouthy) at the Witnesses now for Jesus convention, a few years ago. That was so cool.
Pam
do any here still believe in paradise earth, blood prohibitions, etc.??
?
I can't think of anything that I still believe from my jw years. I especially don't believe in waiting for the future at the expense of the present. I don't believe God is going to come and fix my life by killing everyone else on the planet.
