It's official... I've been shunned by my supervisor
by Elsewhere infor a few weeks now i have wondered if my supervisor has been avoiding eating with me.
sometimes i will go out for lunch with a few coworkers and my supervisor will always decline the invitation.. today i caught them leaving for lunch without me.
i know it is unreasonable to expect to be invited with every single group that goes out... but when i looked at my supervisor while he was leaving he gave me the "deer in the headlights" look.

Are others in the office decorating their areas for Christmas? You should too. And if the boss puts any decorations up, or organizes gift exchange or anuthing... tell him you're glad to see him expressing himself. And BTW Merry Christmas.

Avenger, About that quote: Those who speak in white lies become color blind... I think that like snowblindness they become blind to any truth or lie... it's whatever the paranoid WTS finds acceptable. There is nothing but the blinding light of denial, they refuse to adjust their sight so they remain snow blind.

If you're talking about racism... good grief it's rampant! I'll never forget when a bro in Illinois told me that the WTS was not suggesting that "mixed marriages" were ok, they were just commenting on a trend. ARRRGGGHHHH... I was struck dumb for about 2 seconds, " What mixed marriages, are sisters/brothers marrying lions or giraffes or dogs? Otherwise, I don't know what you're talking about. Most folks I know marry other human beings." Brother acted like I hadn't said a word. I hate that.

Opinions Please....Engagement Timing
by Stacy Smith ini've been seeing a very nice guy for two months now, every day, almost every minute.
as you know it can become very obvious when a guy is about to pop the question.. i have been very honest with him about when i'd be willing to marry, which is to say not until i graduate from college which is still a 1 1/2 years away, of course i hear things like "well a couple can wait but be commited right"?.
anyway i've bounced this off of my friends and have several opinions already but i thought i'd ask it here.. how long would you date someone before you considered accepting an engagement ring?

Will, There are certain warning signs that your Portuguese and English couple did not pay attention to in their relationship.
One major factor is marrying someone who knows where you're coming from, with two vastly different cultures you really do need time to understand each other, so yes, I agree with you in that case. And I think that's always the answer, every case is different.
Was I lucky to fall in love with Nick? You bettcha'. And that's another thing, I really believe that if two people are in love and want to do stuff together ie., travel, learn, read etc., then why stop them from getting married? My parents, especially my Mom who was unhappy in her marriage, didn't want me to get married. Her experience was negative and so that's the only experience she knew.
There are a plethora of clues as to whether a couple should get married. Unfortunately, many couples ignore those signs, especially dubs who want to get married to have sex. I think that's one of the worst crimes that the WTS is guilty .

Stacy, So far so good. And remember engagement isn't marriage. The only thing we had trouble w/ about the wedding was whether to get hitched in the Catholic church or the Greek Orthodox church. We went Catholic because Nick wouldn't have to change his religion for us to have a mass. But something I want to mention, before the priest would agree to marry us we had to go to a few sessions with a psychologist to see if we were mature enough to get married... wise move on the priests part. So that's something to consider, too.
Also, that shoe and sock and money test has almost always worked the way the psychologists say... we all speak volumes by our choices in clothing.

Oh, one more thing... driving the clunker may show that he's a bit too practical with money, this isn't a fault unless he actually tries to rule the spending habits of you two as a couple. Whenever you see a divorce in action you'll notice men love money, and women love stuff. It isn't easy to meld these two when you're married. Nick says when a man gets tight fisted with $$$ he's stopped thinking in terms of WE.

Don't forget he probably has allies among your co-workers. They sympathize with his position. You are the new upstart causing their boss to be uncomfortable. You absolutely must keep a diary. When he starts to blast you in progress reports you need to be ready to talk to human resources. Also, make sure to note the date of your discussion about JW/xJW and how it would be no big deal. This is important to establish his early knowledge of the situation and the fact that he claimed it'd be no problem. Don't talk to him about this, go to human resources and speak to someone.
If you want to test the co-worker waters --- just get ready to go to lunch one day --- ask "where are you guys going today, mind if I join you?" You will know by the answer how you stand.
Focus on your work and keep a diary.

OK everyone will hate me Stacy BUT Mr.Panda and I were engaged w/in 2 months. We got married about 8 months later. We've been married for 30 years. We do spend time on the phone everyday... yeah amazing isn't it? We've always been interested in similar ideas and hobbies. However, while he loves football and basketball, I'm a baseball fan. I think that we have really grown together over the years. There have been tough times, well ,still are every now and then. After I got baptized in1978 Mr.Panda started to study and got baptized a few months later. We did the usual borg stuff EXCEPT for having kids. Now I'm super glad we didn't because they would've been raised dubs and god I'd feel forever guilty.
Back to the point. If you want to get married, get engaged first.
See how your honey treats his mother (this is of paramount importance).
Does he ever (and I mean EVER) ask you for money or to use your credit card? That is so totally not good, no excuses, no way.
Does he wear socks? Honest this is something psychologists look for...really. Apparently the wandering male doesn't wear socks.
Are his shoes slip on or tie. It takes more of a commitment to wear socks and tie your non-shiny shoes. Oh and no nylon socks for the faithful man.
Do you actually have fun in bed, not the usual rabid rabbit thing but really enjoy being together. This is such a personal and important place for you to get along well in, I cannot stress this too much. Your entire mental health depends on this close relationship between you two.
I have noticed that couples who stay together are the ones who hold hands. Kiss each other hello. Generally extend common curtesy to each other, NOT just in public but private too.
Disagreements (which some of us call fights) --- they happen. If they don't there's something wrong. Lacy and Scott Petrerson NEVER fought.
