someone will be very disappointed tomorrow morning!
i am home on maternity leave right now, and this has given me the opportunity to meet people in our neighborhood that i might never have come in contact with otherwise.
a few weeks ago, i started chatting with a mother who was out for a walk with her toddler.

us anti-abortionist faces execution
the first man to face the death penalty in the united states for killing a doctor who performed abortions is to be executed on wednesday.
paul hill, 49, is due to die by lethal injection in northern florida, following his conviction of the murder of two people outside an abortion clinic in 1994. .
Off topic but I would not let this slight go unanswered.
Trauma,
China is not a dictatorship. While the CP is the power, the entire economic system has turned to entrepreneurship ie., capitalism. Every political scientist and economist will tell you that China is the country to watch for the advantages of global economy which can only thrive w/in a liberal democracy.

we have all read and watched so many of the child abuse / sexual abuse scandals, and it makes us all sick to our stomachs, i want to touch on a different kind of abuse, i am not trying to draw a parellel between child abuse and being abused.
the abuse i am talking about is just as bad but so different.
i remember growing up a jw, basically having no choice, whether i wanted to go to the meetings or in service, and i always resented this in my parents.
I don't know your pain because I was 22 when I got baptized. But it didn't take too long before I knew something wasn't right. But I thought perhaps I wasn't worthy enough. When I quit reg.pio. rather than being offered a hand to help me out of depression the CO's wife asked when I'd get back into pio service full time (I tried to aux every month) so then I felt worse. A few years later in another state as my hours were becoming nil another co's wife came and asked the same question. At that point I didn't need excuses and didn't feel guilty (college and a good psychiatrist will do that) I just said "no, not me I don't see it." As the conversation took the guilt trip phase I realized how unaffected I was by then and man alive it felt good to breathe. So I don't know your pain but I do understand the guilt trips.

Caligirl, What a wonderful "witness" you've given! My friends sister was having visits w/ witnesses and I told her my story and certain things to ask them. They told her that if I left the WTS I must have done something really bad. She took afront to that comment (she knew me) and I've been patting myself on the back ever since. I joyfully share my anti cultiness with anyone in need.

SP ,
Sorry I'll just go back to my jw-mindlessness and forget what I've learned from the cruel natural realities. Getting educated really does threaten your spirituality.

the next day was going to be tough.
i had to do kind of a portfolio check session with the illustrators and work on some photo retouching for an up coming italian awake magazine and work with someone from the graphics department on the miniaturization issue.
as i walked around a little bit i noticed a large hell scanner sitting in a room with a plastic tarp over it.
I enjoyed your story, especially about the Bronx where the "rocks would have to cry out". When Nick gave a talk in a Brooklyn Congregation we went out in service after the meeting. Quite the eye opener. Also found one youngster went to a Catholic school because the public schools were so bad ... so much for keeping out of Babylon the Great. We ate at the house of Bill Cosby's retired house cleaner and her husband who I think had recently passed away.
So your story of Brooklyn Bethel was great, meaningful , and well I have to admit that that secret library had a slight Sherlock-ian tone. Now that would be a great story --- ghosts and opium addicts at the secret society of pyramid stair counters OR WTB&TS.

Yeru and anyone else who cares to know, the combination of egg and sperm does not create a human life. Nope, for several generations of cell division these are called stem cells. Stem cells can become any cells and grow to be anything. They are so effective that if you implant stem cells into say human heart cells they become human heart cells. You get the picture --- there is no person there, there is the possibility of human life but until you get past that 12th generation of cell division those stem cells can become anything. It is their environment which causes the reproduction of whatever you want (check out Matt Ridley's work) Also a recent Discovery Science Times show (maybe last week had some up to the minute indepth information.) The whole stem cell research has been put on hold because of moral questions. This reminds me of the way JWS viewed organ transplants.
Mainly lets all take a trip to the wards of screaming addicted crack babies, or those with alcohol fetal syndrome or even better those babies born w/ aids. In SanAntonio the Sisters of Divine Providence run an orphanage hospital for these aids babies. My friend Barbara (xJW) worked there writing grants and sometimes relieving the sisters and baby sitting the nuns "kids". The pediatritian who volunteers her time knows that the kids are suffering and dying painful deaths. Some children must be constantly medicated for pain ... nice life huh? Then at least this group of anti-abortion women are "putting their money where their mouth is" ie., they will devote their entire lives to care for these children. Any of you anti-abortion folks ready to donate every dollar you make and every minute of everyday to take care of these babies? Better yet shouldn't you be doing this already?
Anyway this pro/con thing will never end. No matter how hard we try, our patriarchal society will continue to believe they hold sway over women's reproduction OH! HEY, WAIT A MINUTE --- THAT WAS SOMETHING MARGARET SANGER SAID ---- WE NOW HAVE A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT WHICH GIVES WOMEN THE RIGHT OF CHOICE --- OH YEAH REMEMBER THAT THE CONSTITUTION OF THE US? Which BTW was written by mostly Unitarians. Who BTW decided to leave things like slavery and voting rights for the next generation to fight over. They didn't even write laws about abortion even though abortions have taken place for centuries. In times of famine even good Catholics aborted or committed infanticide at the birth of children who would starve to death.
SHEESH Hall deserved to get the death penalty. Have I mentioned before, that in China child molesters get the death penalty? They don't believe these criminals can be rehabilitated and they must be stopped from harming other children. Amen tongzhiren
if you've left all your family and friends for "the truth" and then you realize how everything you did was for nothing, how do you just go back, especially, if it's been 25 years???
my wife is going thru this dillema right now.
my daughter just went to a family member's birthday party for the 1st time yesterday and my wife feels as though she is unable to be involved because "what will the family think of her after all the birthdays and celebrations" she missed?
I will never forget that my sister inlaw sent me a b'rthday card and in it she wrote that "she had been waiting 17 yrs to send this card to me." I teared up, and then called her. I also threw myself a birthday bbq at my dad's house. Most of my relatives didn't understand what a big deal it was for me, but heck I enjoyed myself and felt all warm and fuzzy!

my daughter stopped all meetings in the spring.my wife and i went to only a few meetings in the early summer and haven't been to a meeting in over 6 weeks.
my elder friend stops by my work every so often and recently has asked, "am i going to see you at the meeting tonight, min?
" i have said now on 3 occasions, "not tonight......" the other day another elder friend called me out of the blue and asked me how things are going.he said,.he'd like to come by my work and talk a little.
Smile that sly "elder nice guy" smile. And tell them, " No I don't want a visit...No I don't want a visit ...No I don't want a visit...."
Don't return their phone calls. The more you arm yourself with that smile and the word NO , the more peaceful your leaving will be.
They'll especially hound you on saturday AM and during the CO's visit. So make yourself scarce, go to a movie..
Take care we all support you --- Panda
thought we could all share a few of our favorites...here's one i'm fond of....
"chaps my grits" is a southern colloquialism, referring.
to.....well, i guess you better know what grits is.
My Mom used to say:
"He looks like he's been throwin' pebbles in the toilet bowl." Meaning this person had lots of freckles.
"That sofa's as saggy as Aunt Mary's nag." Meaning saggy sofa which looked like a horse.
"Jesus, Mary, and Joseph , the Lord above and Saints preserve us." The original trinity and the back up singers.
