I usually didn't wear my name tag, I just have a problem with name tags... Maybe I need professional help? Anyone can go to an assembly. Especially on sunday for the public talk. If you sit in the nose bleed section dubs will figure you're DF'd.

Definitely age. I have trouble remembering all of my pass words. And the names here are sometimes hard to remember. And then if you go into CHAT you've got to abbreviate the long names or you'll never get done typing even one response. But then you've got to remember which abbreviation for which person, OY my head is spinning...
well, it's been a long time coming, but my publisher just sent me the proof for the cover of my sci-fi novel today, and it looks fantastic!
i wrote back and told them it was well worth the wait.. as soon as they release the book, i'll make a shameless announcement so you can all rush out and buy a copy.
(unless, of course, you want me to come to your town for a book-signing!

we australians have just found out that one of two australians detained at guantanamo are finallygoing to get a trial.
america repatriates its own citizens and they get a nice civil trial on home soil.
our citizens on the other hand get a military trial.
In Somalia the UN made the final decision on what court would handle cases. If the UN had taken the terrorist leaders to their (UN)court of war crimes they'd still be waiting for the nations involved to make a decision.
Just a thought, when the US became involved in Europe (WWII) no one said we were going to liberate concentration camps. But that is certainly a high moral point, won't you agree? If good, real good is accomplished in Iraq I'm glad for it. I never cared about WMD and I don't recalll President Bush making that the main objective. We know about the organic weapons because the UN investigators told the UN about them. But you know we will go round and round about this stuff. Mind you, I enjoy the discussion as do others who post on these threads. We won't agree. But is that the point? You have info, I have info, Yeru has info etc., so we go on. I believe that you might have the lion heart needed to overcome your disagreement in order to support the soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afganistan. Oh, especially now that you're another year older
my jw friend has a son who is living with a very nice young woman, who has two little girls 3 and 5. my friend has no problem with this, because she is like all of us, but is playing the jw game to keep her family.
(large extended one) she has become very close to the young woman and her children.
the girlfriend wants to celebrate christmas.
Well, this is the on going soap opera of the JW dance. There's the denial on the part of the Dad. I think I'd like that girl, she seems to want some honest from the dubs, but she'll learn how her questions will never get answered when they ask for reason.

it seems to come up in conversation time and time again with x or inactive dubs my hubby and i talk to.
we often discuss with them the reasons we left the borg, the things that that have really hurt us and the wrong teachings.
I never felt worthy or "good" as a JW. Now I'm just full of my own goodness. I think because now , even with chronic urticaria that the things I volunteer for make a difference. I now know my limitations and work with those. So now I think I'm a much better person than my borg days.
from looking at various cult information, and warning signs of an unsafe group i beleive the jw's to be a cult, but how did they become one?
it started as a religious periodical in the 1870s, and somehow progressed to being a faith, a religion, and then from there progressed to become a cult.
when did this happen, and how?

I've been asked this question before, it's kind of like "if the Genie in the bottle gave you one wish what would it be?" Mr.Panda has also asked me this question and If I really had the power I would definitely have World Peace. For me that is the most worthwhile and all encompassing. If we had world peace that would mean many problems would've been solved. Things like over population, famines, nuclear weapons, "developing"nations poverty, any poverty, ignorance would be gone. Yep, World Peace would be my best wish.
what's your opinion of elders that are still in the organization but are starting to realize that what they thought was the truth really isn't?
let's say they know that the teachings, the prophecies, etc.
are not true----but for various reasons, are still in----does this make you feel they are hypocrites?
