On Yahoo! news I read that 37 are dead and 700 are wounded. That number of wounded probably has statistics of severly wounded or even critical. This isn't going to stop, is it? As long as people accept religious fanaticism as defacto this won't stop. I am sorry for the many families who are affected by these atrocious criminal minds. How ego centric to imagine that the world will be a better place if you blow people up in god's name.

Wife is pretty much done!
by mkr32208 ini haven't been here much for the last 6 months or so because... (drum roll please) my wife has pretty much called it quits!
she's not been to a meeting now in over a year!
(well she went to visit a gung-ho friend for the weekend and went to one sunday) no service in at least twice that long!

Well this is good news. I am happy that some dubs are leaving because of the Armegeddon Delayed. It gives me hope for other old friends of ours.
The other thing (wife's joy) Heck fella you're only 30. You should be over doing everything too. At 30 you are still vibrant and young, don't let your sweetie have all that fun alone! And when she gets back to college she'll have plenty of new friends to horse around with.

Russian astrologer sues NASA over comet experiment
by Elsewhere inlmao... hell i might sue nasa for building the pluto express!

OK maybe I'm touchy about this stuff and yeah ok maybe it sounds like a conspiracy BUT I believe that NASA was experimenting with hitting moving objects in space...Why? well I think that the military would be interested. I know I sound far out. And yes the study of the inner comet will add to our knowledge of the young universe ... but it's intreging.

Bit Again --- the animal kingdom is against me.
by Panda inyep.
i was sweeping the front porch with vinegar and water ; when some angry yellow jacket stung me near my neck.
i now have what looks like a second head growing on my shoulder.

Hot water and hot vinegar help to keep the grass and /or weeds from growing up over the tiled porch. Maybe the wasps don't like the smell? It's pretty common down here.

What have you gained?
by bagpuss inits two years since i last attended a meeting or thought of myself as a jw.
despite the prophesys of doom and gloom for those who leave the org i have gained lots and lost nothing.. i have much more time to spend with my husband which has led to our relationship improving fantastically.. i have a better relationship with my children who stopped going to meetings when they were teenagers.. i have become much closer to my family (i've just returned from yorkshire from my great nephews 1st birthday party.
my confidence has grown dramatically as i no longer view myself as worthless.. the guilt of not doing enough has gone.. i now have real friends.. the list goes on, but i really would like to hear what you've gained or hope to gain by leaving the borg.

Freedom of good relationships. Freedom to live over seas. Freedom to get an education. No more guilt. I think guilt was the real hold over me --- never being good enough. Oh yeah and me and MrPanda are real cozy on Sunday mornings (until he kicks me out of bed to go mow the grass)

Jehovah's Court case -- Witnesses are killed who don't testify.
by garybuss injehovah's court case -- witnesses are killed who don't testify.
the jehovah's witnesses's founder was an attorney called "judge" rutherford.
he saw everything, even religion, as a legal case.

Hey GB really good thoughts. And as always you give a rational argument. I was just thinking ;while reading your post that religions are started by the strangest people for the oddest (if decernible) theses. Judge Rutherford as a lawyer lays out a ficticious court case; LR Hubbard as a sci-fi author tells an alien/human story to prove his ideas of good and evil. Mohammed decided that Christianity and Buddhism were way too cosmopolitan for nomad arabs; so he had a revelation. Jesus never really started a religion (my opinion). Moses was a character of fiction copied from older Babylonian and Egyptian myths in order to give history to a people w/o such. All of these religions seem begun for selfish rather than selfless reasons.

quick builds
by loosie inok was lying awake last night @ 3am wondering: when jw's build a hall in a weekend how do they get an inspectors approval so quickly?
( i know i need a life).
i mean various portions need to be inspected before the next step can be built, right?

What I remember about KH builds was the bickering and finger pointing. Oh yeah and the adulterous connections (why do you think so many elders travel so far to "help" at quick builds? And the young sisters are pushed to attend in order to make connections with "good" families.

duncan, 42, had an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a high-risk sex offender and was facing charges of molesting a 6-year-old boy in minnesota.
he had been released on bail in april, just weeks before the children disappeared.

WOW We were watching this unravel on TV yesterday. MrP called me into the living room to hear about the sex offenses since this guy was 16! I wouldn't mind some vigillante violence against him.
