Jeff - Please don't try to compare this to the average joe who goes to church. The bottom line is this guy is leader of the free world, and he listened to this crap for 20 years and conveniently disassociated himeself from it to win the office...his actions prove he is not who he says he is, and not a person worthy of the office.

The only thing that is clear is that I must have struck a nerve by calling out a fault of your hero Mr. Obama...Sorry but his record and actions speak volumes. Maybe you should consider joining the church of Mr. Wright; obviously you must find his teachings so spot on and just right. At least there are some real heros still left on this planet who will report the facts and not bow to the the all supreme Obama and the synagogue of liberal idealogy (err. Tyranny).

i'm interested in finding out what planted the seed in your mind that got you started on questioning the watchtower.

what issue, event, or idea started you on the path to rejecting the watchtower?

and while we're at it, what event was the straw that broke the camel's back, that pushed you over the edge to finally quitting the organization?

For me it was the thought that Jehovah is preparing us now for the new system. In other words meetings, service, slavery blah blah blah. I figured If this is the way we're supposed to live for eternity, I must escape now while I still have a few good years in me. Before you say it's the just the WTS mis-interpretation of things...I can tell you without a doubt this is what the bible texts point to - eternal slavery under a celestial dictatorship, true freedom and free will - will never exist if you believe the bible.

Special talk earthquakes increasing really?

i had to sit though the the special talk yesterday "is it later than you think", the brother a good deal of time making the case that major earthquakes are on the rise, and how i should believe it is "later than i think" based on that fact.

i took a bit of time to research this today, and sure enough they are not.

the link below has a chart of major earthquakes since the mid nineties, and it clearly shows they are random and all over the place.

Blondie - Nice job as always, as I was sitting through that snoozer of a meeting the comment in p5 caught my attention.

we always need to be alert, watching for opportunities to share what we know about God’s Kingdom. Each such opportunity is precious, and we do not want to squander any. Lives are at stake!

What about all of the lives that have been dimished, repressed and ruined trying to always be in a state of alertness; trying to live up to the unfullfillable commitment of the WTS. Which is extremist and and not balanced as they try to say in the later paragraph. Jesus was certainly not an example of being balanced; but now the WTS is saying our lives our balanced (yay). Since they said it it must be true!

So many lives wasted...After being raised as one, I've had enough of the carrot (Armaggedon soon rubbish) being dangled in front of me; I wish I never knew of this aweful religion and way of life. If this is what's it's supposed to be like in the new system I'd rather just die.

Political party of maximum freedom

it amazes me that the country continues to support the political parties that have invaded our bedroom, wasted our money, and intruded on our freedom.

in other words the voters still vote democrat and republican, when it is those same parties that have gotten us in the mess we're in now.

it seems most of the issues that people have with the political parties boil down to simply limits and intrusions of freedom, whether it's imposed religious views or overtaxation and wastefulness.. my question is why hasn't there been a stronger movement to build a 3rd political party that has a core philosophy of maximum freedom?

What makes you think that this 3rd political party wouldn't become just as corrupted over time?

That is always a possibility; but a better choice then D or R is sorely needed. If the 3rd party became corrupt then we could vote them out. I just think a 3rd party that had maximum freedom as its core belief would offer a unique choice that niether D or R's do offer now.
