by Diest ini honestly cant remember the exact date when i was baptized.
it does not bother me one bit.
i didnt have it stamped in that shitty reasoning book/babel that i got at the time, so i guess the only place i could find it would be my cards, which are far away..

instead of attending the t.m.s.

Why did you become one of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Celestial inany other reason than the arbitrary explanation that you were brainwashed or seduced by a millenarianist doomsday cult?.

My mom started to study when I was 4,,my Dad soon followed,,my Dad's family was exposed early to one of the early pioneers in this area of the US,,he would call on my grandmother,so my aunt and uncle have been in the truth since the 40's or 50's,,,so it was natural to my dad to come in since his wife and brother and sister were already in,,,,I truly believed this was the truth until about 2004,,until I started having extreme family problems,,and started missing some meetings and no one from the Hall seemed to care or tried to support me,,I had went to this hall faithfully for over 12 years, and when I would go I found out there had been gossip about me and so fourth,so this along with some other stuff is what turned me off,,my parents are still in and cousins,,,,you find out who your true friends are in these situations,,that being family and my best friend growing up who fell away in the 80's,,and yes I shunned my best friend for marrying out the Truth back in the mid 80's,,,I'm soooo glad we are back together now,,,and now we are both out of the truth,,,,,sorry I guess I got a little off the subject,,,,I love this website,,it has helped me so much with my soulsearching process,,to be able to express myself and read everyone elses experiences,,,,,,,,,,luv you guys!!!!!!

by cedars inyes, the latest watchtower is upon us.

This is the kind of crap that kept me mentally trapped in an abusive marrige for almost 20 yr.s,,,when an incident would happen the so called truth would always have the wife question her own thoughts and behavior,,I'm soooo freaking sick of this,,,and this was the main cause of me leaving JW's,,,,,,what was the likelyhood of a brother coming along and wanting to marry a sister with 3 kids that had some behavoir issues due to seeing abuse for all their young lives,,well there was the alternitive of being single the rest of my life,,,well bullshit,,,I found a wonderful man now and we got married and I have shared all these things with him and he thinks it's terrible that a religion would teach this stuff to their people and if that is being disobedient to God then so be it.

Any of you have a hard time finding a job since leaving?
by lilbluekitty ini was raised as a dub and my mother never pushed me to have a job.
even when i tried to have jobs she woudln't let me because to her pioneering was the only thing i should be doing with my life.
i did graduate high school and attended a community college for a year but i haven't worked in nearly 7 years and with a gap that large i can't find work.

Have you ever thought about trying to be a Nurses Aide? at certain places you could try to get hired in and they may pay or train you themselves to become a STNA or state tested Nurses Aide,,,or just maybe apply to work in the kitchen or front desk at a longterm facility or even housekeeping to get started off

Happy Birthday Baltar,,,I just had my first ever birthday party for my 21yr. old daughter,,it was fun but I still felt uncomfortable singing the birthday song,,it made her so happy but she did comment "mom we could of been having this fun all along" which makes me a little sad but now I plan on having one every year for all three of my kids,,,it makes them feel special and they deserve that

Geneaology - any tips for a noobie?
by sir82 insaw a news article on a guy who found an old class ring, 90 years after the owner lost it, and returned it to the owner's grandson.. in the article, a reference was made to the finder using the website findagrave.com to assist in locating the grandson.. on a whim, i typed in my grandfather's name on that website and found it!
my grandmother is on there too.. this led to a quick search on a free geneaology site where i found out more details on my grandparents, stuff my parents never told me (dysfunctional family, yada yada, skip boring parts).. .
i'm stunned - i had a mental picture of my grandparents from teh bits & pieces i got from my parents, but my whole picture has flipped!.
