EVERYONE IS AN ATHEIST

it's the starting point for each of our journeys even if many move away from it.

some return while others never do though even these remain 'atheists' towards a strangers god.

eventually we end up in the same absence of belief and knowledge as when we began.. the journey is what makes a life and if yours contains a belief in god that's fine - so long as it causes no harm.

I think Dawkins said something to that effect. We're all atheist about Ra, Thor and Zeus. Some just go one God further.

this forum would probably not be a good measuring stick for answering that question.

god is supposed to put it into the heart of the beast (u.n.) to hate the harlot (religion) and destroy her.

do you see this happening or is this another "we're seeing more earthquakes" thing?.

Religion will die, but not through some Government mandate. Think about where the UN Building is, for starters - America! Home of the batshit insane Evangelical groups. How many presidential candidates show even a modicum of religious intolerance? None. In fact they think Obama has been 'waging war on religious freedoms' for the last 3 years. Religion exerts too much influence, especially in the US, for them to even consider passing some kind of ban. It would also go directly against their constitution. And seeing as Anglo-America is THE LAST power , they'll still be making the weighty decisions before Big A. Things aren't going to shift that way any time soon, my guess would be never. 2/3 of the world follow the big Abrahamic faiths, so religion is not going anywhere for quite a while.

i don't know where to post this but i had to go through about 50 captchas before i could get one right.. can it be set for degree of difficulty?

You can actually cheat with Captcha.

There are always two phrases, but only one needs to be typed correctly - the other one (usually the one with foreign characters/upside down letters etc) you dont even have to try and spell.

That at least works for me, and makes it easier.

Special talk earthquakes increasing really?

i had to sit though the the special talk yesterday "is it later than you think", the brother a good deal of time making the case that major earthquakes are on the rise, and how i should believe it is "later than i think" based on that fact.

i took a bit of time to research this today, and sure enough they are not.

the link below has a chart of major earthquakes since the mid nineties, and it clearly shows they are random and all over the place.

A brother pulled the same trick a few months ago at my parents hall. The email I sent her had a lot of links.

You can also get the USGS centennial giving almost all earthquakes recorded since the early 1900's, here.

diseases transmitted by tsetse flies kill 250,000300,000 people per year.. why create such a thing?.

What came first? Atheism or the "apostasy" in JW terms?

for those who are atheists: did you become an atheist while being a jw, then left, or did you not view them as the true religion and left, but still believed in god/bible, but later turned to atheism?.

My departure took at least a year of mental preparation, although it was only in the last few months I thought about the 'God' question. Before that I figured I'd just die at Armageddon. Then I actually read some Evolutionary arguments, worked things over in my head and came to the conclusion before I made the move to leave.
