this is a sugestion i have to all members of this board ,members from all over the world, to let the victorian government in australia know that the world is concerned about protecting the children of victoria ,and theirby setting a precedent for the rest of the world, who are interested in the outcome of the criminal charges against the religion of jehovah`s witnesses in refusing to abide by the legislation to get "working with children checks"when required to do so.correct me if i`m wrong but i think if all of us sent letters to the newspapers here in australia ,the different members of parliment here,we would demonstate that the victorian judicial system here is under scrutiny to do the right thing in the eyes of the world.. we all complain that the wtb&ts/jehovahs witnesses is a cult religion that sucks,destroying family relationships,here is a chance to do something about it.
whether you agree with steven unthank or not,here is an opportunity to stick up for the children of jehovah`s witnesses and every other child that a witness calls on in their door to door ministry.. what do you think ?.

Andrew Elsbury MLC - Thanked me for writing to him and assured me that the Victorian Government has the strongest legislation in Australia to protect children. He supplied me with the name and email address of the Minister in NSW who has child protection in his portfolio and asked me to write him as well.
He concluded that he had full confidence in the hard work and dedication of the Victorian Police and judicial system to ensure this law is enforced.

many people who" become jw`s" through the ministry are people who are , at the time , in a vulnerable state.
{ lets face it had you been in your right mind you would never have accepted it right ?}.
many of the people who are" born in" are by that very fact vulnerable they never had a chance and were indoctrinated from an early age .. of course their going to have a lot of issues to deal with that history shows can take many years to shake off,if at all.. all i`m saying is i think we should give people a lot more space,and allow them to see the bigger picture that we can show them on this site,give them time to absorb the information thats available on this site,some of the things you learn here is a bit much to take in at first,beleive me i`ve been their .
I agree with you smiddy and the other commenters too. It's really a big deal for an active JW to come to the forum or a newly DF/DA or just faded. I figure if theirunder 100 posts they have theirL plates on. Ps till 1000 then your at a level to say what you mean. I agree BP that some come out all guns blazing at us or speak (as an active JW) in non WTS terminology and thats suspicious. I do love nothing more than a good Troll hunt now and then but i feel all new comers here receive a fair and warm welcome and we extend a measure of trust in their word untill they may prove otherwise.

I have enjoyed ready thru the above posts and i can relate to all that has been written. I was a 3rd generation JW and i cannot recall ever enjoying the act of door to door ministry.I did enjoy the association with some really nice sisters but that was just making the travel bearable but the destination still sucked.
I would be so happy when the weather forecast was for rain on Saturdays so i didnt have to go out in FS. Thankfully my parents were fair weather christians. Even as an adult,husband and father i would pray for rain that i could spend saturday at home and just get some time to relax.
Thinking back over the 40 years as a JW i feel angry for having wasted so much time in the past knocking on doors and talking to people who really did not need to be drawn into this cult.My conceince is clear thankfully that i never brought any into the JWs but i regret the large part i had played in indoctrinating my children in WTS beliefs. Im sure Jesus will forgive me because i was blind spiritually and did not know the real truths.
Funny that the "door to door" ministry model is yet another creation of the man made office of the"governing body" and is distant to the methods practised by our 1st century brothers and sisters.
So for me Full time service in the JW was the last thing i would ever had considered doing,

i remember the catch phrase the WTS used "taste and see that pioneering is good!" . Koolaid is still Koolaid regardless of flavour and it masks the taste of hypocritical death dealing poison the WTS deals to its followers and tries to push on others.

Well RayPublisher the enemy of my enemy happens to be a pathelogical liar and i feel sorry for him but he is the guy who gives the WTS ammo to label us all as mentally diseased and i object to that label.

hello friends, i am a fading jw and i am thinking of attending sunday service at a local aog church here, just for fellowship.
i have lots of friends but none of them are spiritual minded.
not that i am complaining but it would be nice to meet some spiritual minded people.
Good for you shallbefree i'm glad you attended another religious meeting. Not really as bad as the WTS made us believe.
THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY.
I've been doing a lot of research into other "christian" religions to see what they are about. Of course i have been tainted by my upbringing as a JW but i'm getting free from the WTS doctrines. Having been on the end of DF practise i am very wary of any religion that feels that this is acceptable conduct as a christian.
DF is an scripturally unsupported practise ( in context of whole NT).
Seventh Day Adventists (William Miller basis of their teachings and of JW ) are very similar to JW but no longer DF members if they decide to leave.
Christadelphians ( formed in the early 1800s )are very similar in belief and habits of JW ( dont vote, moral living, no military service etc) But they dont have an unscriptural Governing Body, rather each congregation follows their teachings from the Bible. The average church member would give a JW a run for his money in knowledge of the Bible,thay actually study it not teachings of an elite group.Sadly they practise shunning so i will give them a miss.
Point of interest. Type Christadelphians into WT Library and their is only a couple of references from the early 1960's. The only article that attacks them is the W62 8/1 Christadelphianism. My observation of WTS practise is if they fear something or dont want the rank and file to know about or look into they dont mention them.The Mankind search for God doesnt mention the 7th day adventists or Christadelphians!
Now the fact that the WTS never mentions anything about the "Free Bible Student" movements is an instant flag to me to have a look.Growing up we were always told that the ones who sort prominence from the WTS led others away and they dwindled into nothing. Typical WTS rhetoric to ignore the fact that many left due to WTS unscriptural doctrines. These groups of individual are all over the earth and have no GB and adhere to bible scripture,they give Jesus the rightful worship he deserves and do not practise shunning at all. Well worth the time to take a look at them on the net.
I havent been to an actual service of theirs but my best mate in Germany is a free bible student now and he is happy with it. When i have been asked what religion i am i consider myself a free bible student because i study the bible with an open mind and consider my own opinion and the many excellent opinions of members of this forum( they are way smarter than me and i have learnt many things here). I am free from WTS.
Once again shallbefree im glad you are here and wish you luck in your search of religion or whatever you choose to believe. Religion is a very personal thing, between you and God and no man or men should step between you and God.

Well Mr Punkonice im sorry you have to be the Christian and be nice in the relationship.As others have said its like dealing with robots.They are programmed by the WTS to act and respond in prescribed manner.I tried telling ex mrs Azazel about the UN scandal and she woudnt believe me even if i showed her the UN documents about the WTS being a NGO.
If any are fans of Torchwood the Children of Earth episodes reminds me of the JWs.

this has been an interesting science project to say the least.
here is what i have learned:.
you have about 6 types of people posting on jwn, they all fit into a profile.. #1 you have people like me that ran the race, exemplified conduct while in the jw cult and learned through observation that there was a severe disconnect between truth, and the jw cult's statements.
Well im a #6 i really didnt want to be disfelowshipped and asked to not be yet they still did it to me.Best thing in hindsight they ever did.Now im free to Morph into class #666 which is "I dont give a shit for your stupid degrading putdowns of people you dont know list".
