Basically today's Watchtower was an attempt at guilt tripping the entire Borg. Except for the most errogant self righteous haughty in the org. More money more service time. The usual.

@momma tossed me It's a new book. It replaces the old green Shepard book. It's very simplified and much vaguer then the last elder book. I think it was written in a such a way to allow as much leeway in application as possible. So the brothers can be as harsh as their hearts desire.

There's a sister in our hall that married a guy she knew since middle school. She waited until she was 25 to marry but she is very happy. They of course gave a talk about marrying out the org and being unevenly yoked but she didn't care. She is a trooper and soldered on. They seem sincerely happy. Probably because he views her as his equal instead of subservient.

one of my friends who is a ms told me today that the elders have 'marked' me because i'm a reg.pioneer and i've decided to go to college next semester???!
he said he can't tell me anymore but to be careful---what the hell does 'mark' mean?

@theoldhippie I haven't finished reading the thread yet so perhaps someone posted their experience in reply to this statement, " A MS would not know that a person is "marked" any more than the person himself would know it, so the starting point is wrong." I was not an MS or elder. But I had close friendships with 2 members of our service committee and other elders. One in particular is the circuit assembly overseer, substitute CO and pioneering over 30 years. He's actually a very good man and cool dude in SOME ways. Anyway because of that relationship, beers and horseshoes I was previed to ALOT of confidential info. He would treat me as an advisor. We would talk about who was setting a good example and who should be considered for appointment next CO visit. (I couldn't be appointed for another year because of a previous disfellowshipping.) I knew about a 2 brothers porn addictions and a MS that had fits of anger they were considering removing. Point is, her MS friend could easily have known. Don't be so confident in their confidentiality. Many tell their friends and especially wives ALOT.

by karter inhad 2 in my last congro.. 1 was trying sssooo hard to be an m.s we used to say he was brownoseing out (not reaching out) he would allways fall all over the c.o and hang around the elders like the bad smell he was.. another one was an m.s for years and brownoseing out to be an elder....him and his wife kissed every available arse,they used to make me sick when the c.o came around...he finaly made elder only to be removed 3 months latter.. .

2 examples for us to imitate (you know...imitate their faith...uh huh.... My brother- Always buys COs suits, golf, dinner, breakfast,lunch. Worked out well. He is now a regular on Circuit and Districts. Kiss ass supreme. Newly baptized pub initials A.D.- Every move and comment is kiss-assery. I can't even begin to explain. Doing stage within 1 month of baptism in an otherwise very strict hall.

There are like 30 some. Last year over 40 some. I don't really pay attention. I can tell you that even my wife(pretty hardcore jw) can see that the Borg is getting desperate to keep people pressured. She makes comments like, "why all the pressure to sign a form and have your name read from the platform? Just do you honest best and Jehovah is happy." Comments like that make me happy!!!

You just dont know what to look for since you lack the direction of the GB. Gone are the days when groups would physically walk from door to door. YUCK......phewee! Who needs that. Now, we mostly drive from door to door. And when we say 'door to door' the doors are to be visited sequencially in this order; Bathroom door at home, front door, car door, KH door, bathroom door, KH door, car door, Starbucks door, bathroom door, Starbucks door, car door, KH door, bathroom door, KH door, car door, front door. As you can see, we are a very busy people. But I digress. Back to the adjusted, correct, upto date understanding of Gods unchanging will that we drive door to door. Its a subtle shift in thinking and I can understand your not descerning this before the Slave so lovingly pointed it out. By whole heartedly adopting this resolution we have been able to expand our collection of membership dues...whoops...I mean 'Donations' from appreciative souls(not souls like a spirit or ghost or something, you know souls like people) from around the world.
