AC/DC were never the same after Bon Scott died Path!
I was too young to have seen them then Zep, but I've never seen old guys, or anyone for that matter rock like these guys. Worth every penny for the ticket to see these guys.
Save your money if the Smashing Pumkins are coming through on a farewell tour. It was more like a f#%$-you than a farewell to the fans who never bought their last crappy album. For a band with lots of good hits to play only the obscure stuff, I think is way too self-indulgent and an insult to all who paid to hear songs they at least know.

by Maxee inwhat scripture if any is the organisation using now to validate the changes they have made regarding new light?

has anyone heard any more on this and do all the brothers and sisters now know about the changes.. just curious

My grandfather is the same way Somebody. He knows of the change as far as organ transplants go, but it had been so ingrained inside him that its cannibalism that he'd still refuse to take one.
That is his choice I guess. Its just that how many of the younger generation that have grown up with these common proceedures being acceptable would even conjecture the thought of cannibalism?

I believe probably 90%+ still believe in "abstaining from blood" and are completely ignorant of the whole blood fraction issue. Some do know, but don't realize the quatities of blood involved to derive the fraction.
For most if the issue does come up, they'd rather not hear too much in detail. It hurts to think, and besides if the FDS says something is ok, then it must be.
Funny how the walls go up. Maybe they'll be lucky and will never need blood or blood products.

Your quote is about the best thing on this thread. Who is this Philip Yancey? Maybe he's got some other stuff worth reading.
It seems everyone wants to get so lost in the details that they've missed the basic simplicity of the scriptures.
As far as the WTS having anything to do with God's plan or purpose, i think that's just wishful thinking. At what point did they manifest any evidence God was using them? Why would he be using them now?
Perhaps Russell was full of good intentions, some good ideas, but that was about it. He didn't even really use God's name, that only came with Rutherford. As soon as Rutherford appeared on the scene with his "small [punk-ass] band of anointed ones" things just went downhill.
This organization has been nothing but a blasphemous reproach to everything righteous and true and if it has any importance in scripture, it is only something we have been warned against.
The reform movement is doomed to failure as well. The only success it can have is exposing more people to the truth about the organization and the hastening of its end.
Why would anyone who becomes free want to become a slave of men again?

I feel that way too. The vanity of life that Solomon spoke of, the desiring to be released from the shackles of this human body that Paul spoke about.
I think the trip as a Witness was beneficial and opened our eyes to what we might have missed otherwise. We might have reached our destination sooner than most.
Enjoy the trip Frenchy. Enjoy life and enjoy the moment.
I'm not really afraid of dying anymore. I think whatever lies beyond death holds the keys to the answer of "what is truth?" It holds the key to all the answers and true freedom. I'll find out when I get there I guess.

Canadian girls are a tough breed to get along, they can be real spoiled brats if they don't get their way. Of course not all of them are like that.
Funny that you say that. Even "worldly" guys I've worked with say the same thing, so it must be cultural and not a "truth thing". And yet what I dislike about Canadian girls is what I also like about them. Figure that one out.
