Thanks for that info. It would also be enlightening to the non-JW public if the WTS definition of "humanitarian help" were given. It's not what the average reader would assume, nor, I'll bet, is it the definition given in most dictionaries. It's WT-ese for 'selling the WT and Awake and making converts.'
i started reading the november 15th watchtower this mroning.. you guys really have to read it.. on page 21 there is an article entitled, "how do you handle hypocrisy?".
in light of all of the things that have transpired during the last month and a half concerning all of the talk about the wt and their involvement with the united nations, i read it right away.
one of the paragraphs has a statement that reads: first, we must learn to identify hypocrites.
as we all know the watchtower society was founded in late 1800 and russell bought his chronology from the adventist barbour which had the beginning of the last days in 1799, - jesus parousia in 1874 and his crowning in 1878 and the definite end in 1914.. as we know russell died in 1916 having lived long enough to watch all this insane drivel utterly fail.
the next president rutherford, didnt fare any better, he immediately came up with new dates, like 1918, 1919, 1920 and 1925, which of course also proved to be a complete fiasco.
just before he died he had a stab at 1941, but that was of course as usual also a failure.
Thanks for the summary of the latest and greatest, same-as-always brochure from the WTBS. There are no greater naysayers than the WT.
I remember an article in the 80s that were bemoaning cars. They were quoting an early enthusiast as saying that soon there would be no more mess from the horses on the streets, just quiet "mess-less" cars (my quote). I remember thinking that that's partially what happened. Except for the pollution. But I'm hopeful that will be solved too.
ok, i'm getting lonely and desperate (in spite of my loving wife and great kids) who here lives in or near south carolina, specifically, columbia.. yerusalyim.
I live near Sumter/Camden area in SC. My daughter just got married in Georgetown over the weekend and just got back in town. Stayed in Myrtle Beach. It builds more by the week!

Sorry I missed you - my sister (Patio) and I were in Cola last Wednesday for lunch and book browsing. Taking her to Charlotte for plane back to CA tomorrow......but I'll e-mail you.
How ya takin' to the food in the South? Seems they just can't get enough rice or pepper. Been here 20 years now.
waiting
P.S. This is REALLY from Patio. Hee-hee, I changed the user name so I could post and she forgot to change it back. I'm visiting her until tomorrow. We've had a WONDERFUL time!
Well, what I had to use before several colonscopies and surgery, you wouldn't want to use. Believe me, those docs know how to get the colon squeaky clean!
Nice to 'see' you again! Another point is that if someone requests police protection by being registered, they are not agreeing to promote the ideals and interests of the police dept.
there seems to be more open sores on this board than notches on rod stewart's belt, so perhaps the time has come for music.... jesse colin-young, who some may remember as the the pin-man with the youngbloods in the late 60's has linked a work in progress song to his web-site.
it is rather crude at the moment, view it as a sketch.. jesse is a good-hearted man who has never lost hope.
he would probably not be happy to hear me say that his lyrics have never set the world on fire, but he has a purity of spirit and a gentleness that many lose on their path through life.. link: http://www.jessecolinyoung.com/sounds/aloha_e.mp3.
Thanks for the click - and for the mutual feeling that the sores exposed - some through scratching at each other - on our forum should be evident to all.
A cure for the sores? Who knows. But surely some salve could be applied on a regular basis so that true gangrene won't set in and destroy.
Guess it's sometimes easier to scratch until raw instead of apply salve. I have the self-inflicted scars to prove it, as most people do.
Perhaps time to reconsider our approachs to others? The idea of musing songs might be a good one.
