i have a number of problems with the noah's ark story that i could never find the answer to in the bible and so i thought i could ask here:.
1.how did noah get animals that are indigenous to areas he could not get to (e,g penguins, koalas, kangaroos, moose etc) .
2.the flood supposedly happened around 4000 years ago but there is evidence of civilisation dating back a lot further.
Not to rain on your parade jam , but the WT did say that the mountains were no-where near as high in Noahs day as they are now , the weight of water on the earth sank into some areas , the deepest parts of the ocean and pushed up mountains in other areas
Oh my! Please say it ain't so.... Not even the Watchtower society is that delusional that they would think mountains grow significantly taller in 4000 years!

it made me realize a fact that i am somewhat ashamed to admit:.
for over a decade, i have been aware of the false prophecies, the deceptive statements, the lack of scriptural support for many core practices and other issues with the witnesses.
I recalled being invited to a meeting by some friends after i had stopped attending for a while. Meetings starts and i pull out the old song book and start singing and realize that i'm singing something completely different because i didn't know the the song book had been replaced.
I wonder about why they changed it. Perhaps there was something in the old songs which was potentially embarassing, but i personally think it was financial. By releasing a new book, they know that most JWs will donate something in return and that means profit.
i'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.
in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.

Yes, basically brazen conduct in the "troof" is almost like a disorderly conduct charge in society, when the police wants to take you to jail but can't figure out exactly what to charge you with.

Yes i believe it comes down to about 6 - 10 inches of rain per minute, which is obviously impossible. When you factor the logistical implications of this event, it simply makes no sense that god, or anybody else for that matter would take this approach to simply kill a fairly insignificant amount of people.
What kind of loving creator would kill 99.9 percent of all existing animals on the planet, in addition to all plants on earth, to be able to kill a few humans? Especially when you consider that 2 or 3 angels could accomplish that with lil effort without creating a catastrophe for the planet? It is inconceivable that anybody with half a brain cell would take this approach.
There is so many issues with the story of the flood, that it is beyond any reasonable logic to even try to assume this is true.
this is something that's been bothering me for a while.. if god could see into the future, why has he allowed so many bad things to happen?
for example in the garden of eden.
he should have known from the beginning what would happen.if there was even the tiniest chance that they'd eat the fruit then god obviously didn't think it would be benefical to, idk, prevent it from happening?
If free will prevents god from being able to see what we are about to do or what could happen in the future then that just means god isn't as all-powerful as they say.
Yes. And if god could see the future then what is the point of preaching? Hee can also read everyone's hearts, right? Those two powers combined means he should already know who should be saved. And if he knows already who can be saved, then why extend this system of things which is so bad to live in according to JWs? It clearly doesn't seem fair to do this...
If otherwise, he can only see things which are not affected by human free will, then what can he see? That tomorrow the sun will rise? That summer will come after spring? Doesn't seem like such a great power to me anymore.

Pull out a chair for that one. Jehoober will also take care of you in your old age, so you can preach all of your life instead of getting a career. Then when you're old, you'll be asking your friends and family for help, because Jehoober always seems to be too busy to do anything.
incredibly, it seems that science and technology are the only things that have been able to deliver when we need it. Everytime there is a problem, science and technology come to the rescue over and over again. I don't know about you, but i'll put my trust on the things that seem to deliver results.
i was listening to a conversation of jws recently about how trusting they are with each other and how out in "the world" you have to be ever so careful that you don't put down your purse or wallet for a minute otherwise it will be stolen.. i entered the conversation with an experience that one of my close friends had.
(true story) he was in a public place with a wallet with significant amount of cash and bank card, credit card, id, etc.. somehow he lost or misplaced the wallet, panicked of course.
he went to the police, cancelled all his cards and thought it was gone for sure.
IMO, i know that some of you are trying to make a point of saying that JWs are just like everybody else, but i don't think anybody really doubts that JWs are pretty honest and orderly.
If i was given a choice to leave my laptop at a convention hall full of JWs or at a concert hall with a mix back of all sorts of people, i'm picking the convention hall, and probably so would you.
That is not the issue. THe issue is this insistence of the Watchtower to group everybody that is not a JW into a big bucket. It is somewhat xenophobous. It is as bad as saying that all muslims are bad because some do bad things.
There are incredibly honest people outside of the organization and there are incredibly dishonest ones too.
