North Korea - U.S - War ?

things look to be hotting up here.

scary.. what are the chances of it all kicking off ?.

No. It will not happen.

What is happening right now, is that N. Koreans are looking at this chubby short korean kid that is running their country and are losing respect for him.

So in order to bolster his image and make him look tough and decisive, the people that control him (yes he is a puppet), are putting this threatening and bully-type stance against the US - which is who N. Koreans typically see as their enemy.

And for those of you who think S. Korea is our friend, don't be mistaken. The goverment of S. Korea puts up with us in exchange of trade and military perks, but the population itself has disdain for americans. I personally got into heated arguments and was threatened with violence on subways and other public places in Seoul, simply because the locals heard my american accent.

One time i was sitting in a subway talking to a friend and an old man, got up from his seat and stood in from of me yelling in Korean with his finger pointed at me.

i really feel these old fogies on the governing body are too messed up in their delusion to run a company successfully or any real skill.

yes sometimes lunatic fringe manage to get into some pretty high places.. does the governing body have what it takes to make good decisions, i don't think so, they have been in this delusion too long and have too much invested in it to make sane judgements.

If i can be the Devil's advocate for a minute, the reality is that the current GB members have been dealt a pretty dismal set of cards, from previous leaderships and now they must do what they can with it.

It's a pretty tough legacy they received, with all the predictions and doctrinal concoctions, passed down from all the "bright" minds of folks like Rutherford and F. Franz. So now, they have to dance with who they brought to the ball.

It's a fine line between trying to be reasonable and not letting the house of cards crumble.

Also when the society moved towards an arrangement of a Governing Body they pretty much sealed the maintenance of hardcore beliefs of JWs.

Whereas before there was a chance that the one man in charge had a change of heart, or a moment of clarity, with the current arrangement, even if one or two members have a desire to "clean house", the rest of the group logically will turn on them and force them out to maintain the status quo.

The Watchtower is desperately trying to bring the number of partakers down at all costs, including the cost of common sense and logic.

It doesn't seem to matter that the Watchtower society should abstain from convincing attendees one way or the other, as the decision to partake is driven by the holy spirit.

I am always surprised at how much this sort of stuff becomes the elephant in the room.

People simply don't know how to rationalize these sort of news/events. We dont' know what to say... We as Americans carry on in our fat and happy lives, busy with our TV Shows, DVRs, burgers and beers, while ignoring the power circles and agendas that exist in the upper strata of our society.

There is a thin veil of stability in our world today, which can at any moment be disrupted and bring about complete chaos - and it doesn't need to be much either - all we need is loss of electricity or water, and a seemingly stable and civil group of people can turn on each other like animals, while daddy goverment will come to restore order which ever way they choose.

News organization keep Americans in the dark. Turn on the news, and you will hear about a mugging down the street, or an entire news show about a coming snow storm, but no mention that the government is strangely buying huge amounts of bullets for federal agents, building detention centers, hiring internment camp workers, and making changes to the laws that allows the goverment to detain american citizens for no reason. All of this as the dollar marches on to become as valuable as toiled paper.

We live in a chess game, where a few select and powerful players that hide in the shadows slowly move their pieces over decades in order to achieve the end game, while Americans continue to ignore the troubling signs, as we sit our fat asses on the couch for yet another night of spoon fed entertainment in front of the box.

i just don't understand god's pourpose and the jws point of view.

fisrst, if god is love and kindness, couldn't he give a second chance to adam and eve?

i'm only going to the meeting because of my husband!

i was 'in' solo for years while living with my unbelieving family and i know how it feels to be the only one in your house going to the meeting.

i also respect my husband's decision, and know what it's like to have family try to tear down your beliefs.

A: Not at all, it has been considered. Just in the same manner that a wife considers that reasons why her husband had an affair. Does that change the facts? NO.

Not at all. Nothing is discounted. Please see answer 1.

3) Do you find yourself searching for a counter argument to this information in order to keep your belief that the "Watchtower" is an evil publishing corperation?

Not at all. I have looked at the explanations that the Watchtower society has provided and in find them illogical in the context that it is supposed to be God's organization. We then can ask why the Watchtower society compromised it's position of neutrality? It is this a reasonable compromise if the return is really just a "library card"? Also why would Jehovah in all his wisdom would allow His organization to associate with the UN in any way? Surely he would know that this would bring dishonor to his name, no? Additionally, why does the Watchtower society continues to send representatives to participate in UN-led programs even after the NGO membership was discontinued? Certainly, it seems that association with the beast is permissible behind closed doors then.

Who of you ever lied on your field service reports?

i've read a few people mention making up the figures for the field service reports, and i want to find out how common it is.

i never lied on my report.

sometimes i'd round up 15 minutes if i'd mentioned jw stuff to my brother that month, but that wasn't falsifying.

Along the lines of the discussion about bull shit reporting of hours is the fact that a few JWs have admitted to me that they count time for going online into forums like this one and others, to engage in debate about Watchtower beliefs.

A few others i know, send letters instead of going out in service and count the time they spend writing them. One can just image the time they take writing each letter.

if you have your eyes and ears open and can put 2 and 2 together, you have like many of us, have figured out that there is an impending financial collapse in the united states.

the type of financial collapse that likely has never been seen.. whether you believe this is being done intentionally by global power hungry groups bent on bringing us to our knees, in order to push their agenda, or whether it is being done out of carelessness and stupidity is hardly relevant at this point.. the writing is on the wall.

experts (and all who want to) can see it , high level officials expect it, and are already implementing the contingencies that are needed in order handle the civil unrest that will ensue.

There is only one thing you need to know about finance: the stock market is not the economy. The Dow is composed of a basket of 30 industrial stocks that are largely impervious to the struggles of ordinary Americans.

But if you want to gauge the economy by the market, you should always look at the S&P 500, as it is a better snapshop of the market.

The Watchtower society thrives during times like these, and I often wonder if, when (if) these things come to pass, it will cause a rejuvenation of sorts for the cult and a boost in membership. I hear the Org is telling all witnesses that they should stockpile food and supplies. Makes sense - I do the same. But even that, surely will be used to leverage their position as God’s organization who warned it’s people ahead of time to prepare for the times of trouble.

I can just hear it now… “Aren’t we happy that Jehovah warned us through “the slave”, so that his people could be well prepared?”
