Doubt it. As deluded as the GB is, even they know this would be too much a risk. The idea that they are receiving new light from Jehoober is really what keeps this house of cards together. To have something like this become known in bethel, and eventually outside, would be a disaster.

My Elderette is returning today to CONDUCT another conversation...
by Faithful Witness inshe has had 42 years of training and indoctrination.
i'm feeling sort of nervous, but also looking forward to it.
this will be our second scheduled session together, and we never did agree on a topic.. i'm assuming she will come with an agenda and another prepared presentation.

She has been trained NOT to listen, but to appear that she actually cares.
Yes. JWs have a "preaching mode", that they switch on. You can see it when they go out in field service. They are not interested in having a conversation with a home owner; they simply want to follow a script. If the home owner asks questions, they deflect and go back to the script
You'll have to work around that. I like to use a lot of probing questions and analogies and stay away from a question/answer format. The Watchtower has developed packaged answers for all possible critical questions and she will keep resorting to them. Instead try to have a conversation.

Doesn't the ARMAGEDDON teaching foster a MORBID view of the future?
by Black Man ineven when i was dyed-in-the-wool j-dub, i felt the armageddon teaching was one of the most morbid concepts to be hammered into the psyches of jws.
think about it, only jws would survive this catastrophe, which translates to roughly .001 percent of the population would survive while everyone else would die a horrible death.
that includes people who do good things and are good people, but are just not jws.

I was at a JW party in Los Angeles in the late 60s and one of the games we played was to draw anything we wanted,
What a lame party! I remember those JW "gatherings", they were a total drag.

China a cash rich country and yes they have a huge GDP, but that does not mean it is a super power, or that it will become one in the near future. Even on a financial level, on a per-capita basis, is well below the US and it will take many years to surpass that.
Being a super power is not only about having money. Power is defined along many dimensions, and by most political, military, strategic and cultural measures, China is a great but not global power. For now, it lacks the intellectual ambition to set the global agenda.
China is, in essence, a very narrow-minded, self-interested, realist state, seeking only to maximize its own national interests and power. It cares little for global governance and enforcing global standards of behavior (except its much-vaunted doctrine of noninterference in the internal affairs of countries). Its economic policies are mercantilist and its diplomacy is passive. China is also a lonely strategic power, with no allies and experiencing distrust and strained relationships with much of the world.

You handled this very well.
I've had dozens of debates with active witnesses and this is a common theme to all of them. They value what they DO and not what they TEACH. So the reason why they are the true religion is always what they DO : preaching, keeping the congregation clean, not participating in worldly things.
No other religion works solely off of voluntary donations. No other religion goes door-to-door like Jesus commanded us to do. No other religion is doing the grand preaching work that Jesus said would be done before the end would come, Matthew 24:14.
None of this is true of course. And when you started debunking these points, he switched to the magazines.
We have the largest circulating magazine in the world and the 3rd for that matter.
And exactly how is this evidence that they are the true religion? How many non-JW actually read the magazines? Nobody knows but the number is likely incredibly small, so how is that helping this preaching that seems to be so important? No wonder that there are only 7 million JWs in the world.
Well here are a couple of thingsā¦Mormons participate in politics, warfare and holidays
Yes, and since the bible doesn't say this is imcompatible with christianity, you have to use circular reasoning to use this argument.

If God is real?

If after you die you find yourself in front a God ready to judge you. What will you say in your defense for not believing?
Let's say there was a child that grew up to adulthood without a father that decided to abandon him. Now the father one day returns and asks him " Son, why don't you love me?". What do you think the son would say?

Isn't it funny how that works.
Millions of people on this planet pray to God on a daily basis to have some food to eat, or get a job, or get help with something. Out of this huge number of people that pray, an incredibly small amount actually get what they prayed for, and so these go "dancing on the streets" praising God for answering their prayers. Meanwhile the rest simply reason that maybe God has other plans for them, while pointing to the ones who got what they wanted as proof that God exists.
The rate of prayers answered seem to be always the same incredible small amount, and always affected by external factors. For example if 1 million people with cancer prayed to God to be cured 100 years ago, perhaps only a few would get their wishes, maybe none. If today the same amount prayed to be cured, a much larger number would get their wishes, due to better treatment options. So where is the God factor on this, and how is this fair?

The Creation of Eve
by jws infor those of you who believe in the bible, have you ever seriously thought about the events that led up to the creation of eve?.
genesis 2 - 18 the lord god said, it is not good for the man to be alone.
i will make a helper suitable for him.. .

XX can come from XY. XY cannot come from XX. The biblical narrative is consistent with this.
Oh stop! The allmighty creator of the universe needs to pull ribs from one human to create another human? Does this mean he took ribs from all animals to create their female/male counterparts? What a bunch of hogwash.
Just reading the creation account, one can easily see this is a product of an ancient, uneducated, middle eastern mind, who made this up while taking a break from rubbing two sticks together to make a fire. What a bunch of nonsense.
That's one of the problems with the bible; the level of knowledge in it, is on par with the level of knowledge of that era. If the bible described nuclear fusion in an era when humans were trying to rub two sticks to make fire, i would be thoroughly impressed.
