  "One Wirld Order," preceeded by a World War (armageddon) to reduce the population to a manageable number. The US is attempting to start a war with Russia in the Ukraine as we speak.

  So the best plan they can come up with to reduce population is the start a thermonuclear war? Does this ring a bell to you? To me is makes as much sense as flooding the entire world and kill all plants and 99 percent of animals to kill a few thousand humans. Surely there would have been a better plan.

  And why does the US need to attempt to start a war with Russia? Surely Russia is in on the plan, so it should have started already. But then in a year from now when that crisis is over, you'll pretend you never said this.

  You remind me of the times when I used to buy into the world of conspiracies. Hopefull at some point you'll take a step back and realize there is very little logic behind most of this stuff.

  Can anyone disprove 607 BCE date using only the NWT and WT literature?

  i haven't come across any arguement that does not involve secular history and external references.

  in fact the wt can not get to 607 bce without using external sources as in knowing that they need to get back from 1914 ce to 607 bce, and botching an argument using an external date as reference to create their start point at 537 bce.. i realize that to get the final date we must provide a fixed figure from somewhere which can only be a historical source, but the objective would be to disprove the wt flim flam.

  once that is achieve we can use which ever fixed historical point they wish to chose.

  Also,

  Jeremiah 44 is placed at the desctruction of Jerusalem.

  On verse 30 it describes the Pharaoh which was in power at the time of the destruction of Jerusalem, which is pharaoh Hophra.

  What is the timeframe for his reign? 589 - 570 bc well within the range of 587 bc. In 607bc this pharaoh was about 2 years old.

  Or we can just re-write Egyptian history in order to accomodate the Washtowell.

  we just had an old lady call and tell us that was exactly what they were doing and it has "lots of good things on their for children".

  Maybe they've realized that the average R/F JW is pretty much incompetent at recruiting.

  They are, and this will change nothing. People are still going to ignore this website in the same way that they ignored the magazines. They are promoting this website as if this was the first website ever developed. The world is so saturated with web content that this will have little to no traction. But in a few months from now, they will report metrics on the website to show that this compaign was super successful.

  using kindle/ tablet/ iPad in meetings how to police?

  i've noticed about half my half are using these.

  of course there's always the potential for people to be looking at things non jw on them.

  are the society going to find a way to police this?

  I would recomment using a privacy screen for the IPad or tablet. If you use one of these, when someone looks at your screen from an angle, they can't see shyte. You have to look straight at the screen to see.

  Then why not send a massive amount of missionaries to China, paskistan and iran? Certainly with about one third of the worlds population that has barely been exposed to the message, this is prime territory. All talk, no action.

  those of us, who still had to attend the convention this year, for whatever reason, might remember the talk given about the difference between human rulers and the kingdom since 1914.. .

  sure, one can find many flaws with human rulership, and paint a picture of the perfect rule of gods kingdom in a paradise, literal and even spiritual right now (whatever this means).

  How anybody can sit in the audience and hear someone actually compare something that is visible, factual and palpable with a fairytale, is simply amazing.

  It just sounds surreal to think that perhaps at some point i would have entertained this comparison if i heard it in a convention.

  And who is paying these men? Your neighbors and mine; apparently no one can pass up cheap labor.

  Revdip, how about you start a campaign in your neighborhood, go door to door, and tell your neighbors NOT to hire the cheap laborers?

  How about we just go door to door and tell our neighboors about everything in life that they are not supposed to do? What logic! It's not mine or your responsabilty to enforce these issues. Unfortunately our government has a two-faced approach to this problem, where for image sake they put up huge fences and line the borders with agents, but on the other hand look the other way once these migrants make their way into the country.

  I'm not against these hard working individuals who come looking for a dream, but at some point you have to start looking at this objectively and realize that in order to maintain our standards of living, you have to keep this situation manageable and realize our nations can't welcome everybody that has a bad life in the world.

  primarily its the younger ones 35 and under vs older ones.

  i dont know if its just my friends or everyone but they are obsessed with jw.org.

  Wow, "the greatest country on earth" want's to close it's door to some child refugees escaping some of THE most dangerous places on earth that are that way in no small part because of the demand from illegal drugs in the US.

  What an incredibly superficial way of looking at this. So the US should take in anybody around the world who has a bad life?

  And what is the reason you don't open your own doors to shelter and care for the neglected children that live in this nation? No, not just one or two. I mean why don't you take about 50 of them? What was that? You don't have enough resources to do that?...

  This type of "tree hugging" mentality is the type of plan that will bring down our nation. We don't have the resources to solve everybody's problem in the world - we barely have enough to solve the problems of the people who live here already.

  As i drive to work everyday, i pass by several streets lined with illegal immigrant men who have no work and just stand on the street corner waiting to be picked up for odd jobs if they are lucky. I"m talking about hundreds of these people in a few streets.

  If they are lucky to get a job for the day, they get paid cash and of course not tax is paid on that, so they don't the support the social security system that they help drain. But at least they use that money to boost the economy right? Wrong. That money then goes back to the home country and helps the economy there.

  You want to work here? Apply for a work visa. Thousands do that legally. They have jobs, pay taxes and are productive members of society. Again, i'm not against immigration at all, but i think it should be done in a controlled way.
