the meetings were held in michigan (bibleexaminer), long island (nytelecom), san diego (elder families only), and here in toronto.. the stadium we used is the same we normally use for district conventions.

unlike the dc tho, which is spread over 2 weekends at the stadium, it was packed absolutely full.

it was very hard to find seats anywhere, just a few singles here and there and lots standing in the halls.

I believe that they had originally intended to announce "something" but pulled the plug at the last minute because they now see that their situation is hopeless.

Too many know the truth and too many know too much damning information.

They also know that no matter how much security they try to have an "apostate" will get in and inform the rest.

The cost of holding these meetings at large stadiums and colisseums are very high to just give a few talks and a watchtower summary.

Just my thoughts.

Is there Un meeting re: WT on 10/9 ?

hello folks.

i don't have too much time to look through all the posts regarding the ngo/dpi and the wtbts but i was told by a friend and would like to confirm that the un is having a meeting about all this tomorrow and that it is open to the public.. is there any truth to this?

Armed Security to be at Oct 7 event

...at least at the one in my state.

found out that they read a letter sunday at one of the congregations going to the october 7 meeting.

there will be hired armed security guards with metal detectors at the door, everyone will have to go through before being allowed in.. they also said that you're not allowed to bring in any bags like lunch coolers, and that you may be physically searched.

Meeting's..........the best Medicine!!!

do you remember those truly wonderful occasions when the meeting was in full swing, and something/one would make you laugh uncontrollably............so much so that you had to go out.

(and yes, your were sat on the front row!

you would go out and feel terribly guilty, and when you thought you were under control, you would venture back in only to find that the air was still full of laughter (on your row)..............truly wonderful meetings!!

When I was a kid a brother was was being used more and more (movin' on up) was called to give the ending prayer after a Sunday meeting. Well he was as shocked as everyone. You could tell that he was in pieces while the song came to the last sentence.

When he got up he said: "Let us bow our heads to Jehovah...." then nothing,...we kept waiting...nothing...when we looked up the brother had used the opportunity to run down the aisle and out the door!!!

Our row was in tears we were laughing so hard. Some other brother eventually got up and said a quick prayer.
But the damage was done. The other brother didn't show back up for about a month!

Was talked out of getting my masters in music.

Was told exactly this : "Education is Satan's biggest scam in this system of things". (By an elder).

Disappeared off the radar as I joined the Army, kicked Iraqi ass, came back and hit the meetings again. ha,ha,ha, they still don't know.

Took a part time Building Superintendents position-still have it but went to school on the "DL".

Now I'm part of the NYPD and laughing because as a super (which the elders told me would be best for me to be able to increase my hours) I don't pay rent or utilities !!

just received word from my parents who were visiting with a bethelite [8>] couple over the week end (circuit assembly).. my dad's on the defensive because i have begun to tell him exactly what i think og the wbts.. anyhow he wanted to let me know, per this couple, the jw are housing firefighters and even feeding them!

Absolutely a false statement. Unless you had an official Badge and ID you could not get near ground Zero. Unless you went early in the morning (before 8) you could not be used as a volunteer (first week only). And you HAD TO WORK , not no preaching! Now you have to be a certified Firefighter,rescue worker, nurse, EMT, Policeman etc. Trust me no Jws around.

I did not even see them in the areas set up for the Doctors. Now maybe there were one or two around witnessing on the "DL" but I sure didn't see any.

Although I don't have any proof, I seriously doubt that firemen were being housed at Bethel. There are enough temporary housing options for them and I don't remember the WTBTS being up on the list. Again I really don't know but it sure doesn't sound right.

The WT contributions for these kind of "things" is to "help" people by preaching to them. Like they say, theres only one solution to this and that is God's Kingdom..."so theres no sense in giving money to something that ios still going to happen until God takes action".
