whilst i have never quite understood whether petra and atlantis are one or multiple entities i recognise the value of their work and web of contacts.
i think it is fair to say that no-one has consistently contributed more solid gold intelligence to this site.
no one has reliably passed on more bomb shells and solid news as well as day to day minutiae.
Many an XJW thinks they are so very clever because they have woken up and left. They then do not work on their Education and their Personality, they often are more openly a big headed arsehole than when they were a JW. Mr O'Donnell seems to have fallen in to that category.
Atlantis and Petra, please be assured that a huge number of us appreciate all you have done, and hope continue to do, it is important and valuable work you both do.

There are more efforts now than ever to stop free speech, and to silence ANY criticism, we see this in all spheres now. I agree with Rowan !
seeing on another post here about former jws throwing away literature.
i am curious as to the various opinions on there value.. for me i have been inactive for 3 years almost 4. i still have alot of books and of course all their bibles ever produced (except a few from the 1800s.).
in my opinion i think there are four books the jws produced that are useful:.
Thanks Petra ! I think I may have the 1990 edition, I will check when I can get to my old JW library, which is small, but my wife has made inaccessible while she "tidies up", I can take it they have not updated or replaced this book then, in which case they should be ashamed !
If someone could kindly confirm my assumptions, I may do a Thread on all that books faults, and lies etc !
I also assume it is not used at all in meetings as assigned material then ?

btw i'm english, and like many of my compatriots, i remember how disgraceful his cheating was in the quarter finals of the 1986 world cup against england.
he clearly deliberately punched the football into the net, and that goal should not have been allowed.
I take nothing away from the total brilliance of Maradona, but that second goal was aided by some piss poor defending !
i think many people feel secure with an abundance of rules.
they enjoy being told what to do, how to think.
it makes them feel safe.
Enjoying true freedom of thought AND action is a joy. Of course, any freedom comes with responsibility, but I am happy with those rules, which boil down to " Don't use your freedom to be a Dick", simple, nothing more needs to be said !
i thought i would post an encouraging experience i found today.
i've been seeing a lot of 70-80 year old jws waking up, and their children are posting their experience on reddit.
these are old elders, pioneers, circuit overseers who have given their everything and finally at the end of their life, are walking away.. maybe the key to waking up is that a person has to have a deep sense of right and wrong.
He sounds like a kindred spirit to me ! 1914 being bollocks is what woke me up too, but when I left I still believed in Big and Little J and in the Bible, as he does, at present. I was in my late 50's.

In Article 9 it says that "No member of the Congregation shall be liable for.............. "
So who pays in cases of Abuse ? This lets the Elders as individuals or as a Body off the hook, the Congregation itself as an entity has no assets, and little cash on hand.
This is a move to deny any poor Victims due Compensation for having their lives STOLEN !
How does this square with the other letter we got recently that JW's are not members, but associates ?
