All of this was such an Eye-opener to me when I first left, thank you JW Facts , Paul Grundy ! What stuck in my mind was a phrase that someone used about this issue " If you have The Truth, you do not have to Lie about it " !!!

Misquotes, Lies and deception in Watchtower Publications
by jwfacts ini have just finished an article misquotes, deception and lies and would like your comments, proof reading, and any other examples that you think are important to add.
most of these already appear on jwfacts.com within specific articles, but it is more powerful seeing them included together.
there have also been a number of requests over the years for such a collection.

Governing Body; Villians or just Deluded?
by pistolpete inare you sometimes dumbfounded at the direction the governing body takes?.
thousands of documents proving 607 bce is wrong, yet the gb sticks to the date, why?.
the generation that would not die, yet they continue by introducing an overlapping generation.. disfellowshipping at a time when everyone is leaving, not a good idea, yet they continue to disfellowship.. here is a video that addresses these questions.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbgeqhp9o9i.

" Like I keep saying...
...they know it's wrong... but believe it's true... at the same time"
I agree thoroughly Vid. They have all come up through the Ranks, and had no opportunity to possibly actually wake up. But, in my many years in the Org. I touched upon the higher Echelons from time to time, and became aware that all those who were " up there" had to some degree become aware of the fact that some of it at least was bullshit, but at the same time they were aware that it was necessary to keep up the façade, the false front, so that the Rank and File JW's did not start to realise there WAS an element of Bullshit.
Cognitive Dissonance 101. So, you are right, they realise that much of it is wrong, but believe it is in the interests of believers to continue to pretend. They actually think they are serving the " God of Truth " with this scam. Again, Cognitive dissonance 101.

Has anyone still in or otherwise heard anything about JWs think we only have 12 months before Armageddon?
by blablabluh ini’ve noticed a change in family attitude recently, like there is just something extra on their mind.
i even had to call my brother to check if he was dying and too scared to tell me.
anyway, i saw a video last night my saying jws think we only have 12 months left before armageddon so thought maybe this is the reason for changes attitude.

The silly thing is that there is No Basis for thinking Armageddon or the Great Tribulation or " The End" or a " New World " are going to happen, ever.
No Basis at all, as the Bible has been discredited as the word of god, and as a book of prophecy.
People who think otherwise are Deluded Fantasists, and doomed to lifelong disappointment.

"Why did the wt ask for early wt CD libraries to be destroyed?"
A pertinent question zachias ! they also asked for much of the early literature to be destroyed, and on one occasion asked us to return copies of a book to them, obviously so they could make sure they were destroyed ! What these books contained was so embarrassing to "God's Spirit Directed Organization" !
And yet if you had cast doubt on any of this stuff when tit was current, you would have been Drummed Out of the Org !

Do You Still Easily Believe Everything?
by minimus into be a witness you had to accept whatever spiritual food was being dished out.
even if it didn’t make any sense, we were expected to believe.
now that we are out of the cult, do you find yourself a person who doesn’t just accept the status quo?

When I woke up I realised that the Org had lied and lied and lied to me for many decades. If I had only done some serious testing of their false claims, I could have been free much earlier in Life.
I decided I would only trust that something was true if it had evidence and facts to back it that would stand the most rigorous of scrutiny, and preferably scrutiny by experts in the field.
I have done that ever since, even checking to see who is financing Scientists or others that claim this or that, and checking references in Scientific Papers, often the references come from other Scientists that take the same stance as the Paper, which is no validation necessarily, sometimes it is. You have to use judgement.
I apply this system elsewhere too. So I am unlikely to be caught out by trusting that some random bloke on the internet has it right, and experts who agree a consensus opinion are wrong.
I will not be fooled again.

Interesting stats from the UK Home Office on 'hate crime'
by LoveUniHateExams inapparently, a rape victim of the asian grooming gangs has wrote to the home office after breaking down the hate crime unit's statistics on hate crimes in the uk.. apparently, the guy who ran over a muslim outside finsbury park mosque committed a hate crime, but the islamist who ran people over and stabbed people on london bridge did not, according to the hate crime unit within the home office.. very interesting video detailing dodgy presentation of statistics ….

The very sad thig about the effect of this totally unjustifiable attitude by the Home Office and the presentation of Statistics in such a misleading way, is that the Numb nuts in Government will go along with this, and more crimes by the people who are being shielded by this will happen.
Why is the Home Office, the Justice system the Government and the MSM so frightened of identifying Criminals, and the incidence of criminality, within certain Ethnic groups and Religious people of a certain kind ? why do they get a free ride ?

The three wise men
by Simon injust a thought.... looking through the greatest man book, something just occurred to me which i can't recall has ever been highlighted (but please correct me).. i always thought it a bit strange that jehovah allowed the three pagan astrologers to find jesus especially as they were obviously guided to him by satan's star (remember they were led to herod first who wanted to kill the messiah).
what purpose did it serve?.
well, a few pages earlier in tgm book, we see mary presenting a dove as a sin offering at the temple - this was the cheapest offering that was acceptable which must have meant that they were pretty poor at the time.. shortly after the three wise men visited the family had to flee to egypt when herod started to kill all the young boys in an attempt to kill jesus.. what would they need to travel and live as exiles for a couple of years?.

This is from a Biblical Scholar on another Site : " The first thing to know is that the author of Matthew’s Gospel used the Greek word magi, which does not actually mean ‘wise men’, but is a reference to the priests of the then-great Zoroastrian religion of the Persian Empire. When Matthew says they came from the east, he was alluding to the direction of Babylon and Persia. It is, of course, inconceivable that Zoroastrian priests would be in the least interested in the birth of a purported king of Judah. It is scientifically inconceivable that a star could be followed so accurately to Jerusalem and then to Bethlehem and actually stand over the very house where Jesus was. However, our author (he was anonymous and very unlikely to have been called Matthew) knew that the magi were well known for their wisdom and for their knowledge of astrology, so he knew this nativity account would be plausible.
What I am saying there, in line with the general consensus of scholars, is that the magi of Bethlehem did not really exist. There was no star of Bethlehem, which is why it was never reported outside this Gospel.
The author wanted to achieve two things: i) to show that even the priests of that great religion would want to worship Jesus; ii) provide a reason for Herod to seek to kill all the infant boys, so that he could draw a parallel between Herod and the Old Testament pharaoh who sought to kill all the infant boys, and therefore a parallel between Jesus and Moses.
You do not find non-Christian information about the magi of Bethlehem because there is none."

Have You Been “Gaslit”?
by minimus ingaslighting is a form of sustained manipulation that causes the victim to question or doubt their sanity, judgment and memories.
it’s a form of emotional abuse.
i think jehovah’s witnesses have been gaslit.

"we do not discuss lies about the organisations with apostates."
Well that's good then, Apostates only want to discuss the TRUTH about the Org.
"Gas Lighting" is convincing you that you are mad, and you are the one in the wrong, JW Org and its members try to convince us that we are the ones who have "lost their minds" and that we are Dire Sinners for leaving the Org.
The truth of the matter is, we are the ones NOT deluded, and we have left a very coercive and abusive Relationship with a Mind Controlling Authoritarian Cult.
We are brave SURVIVORS of "Gaslighting".

Do You Know Of Anyone That Has Seen A Therapist Because Of Being A Witness?
by minimus ini really don’t know of many people who got into therapy because of their jw dealings but i would think that if someone remains depressed or severely affected by their past witness life, it’s not a bad idea to speak to someone to get you on the right path.
i think this site has been very therapeutic for many over the years..

Phizzy
I too consulted a Therapist/Psychologist , if I hadn't I would not be here. The Cult life had left me severely depressed to the point of suicide. I would have killed myself without doubt had I not had the help of an understanding Therapist who knew how to treat people like XJW's .
Sadly some people who set up as Therapists are not very qualified, or they do not understand the Cult experience, but fortunately mine had a string of Letters after her name and was skilled, and had previously treated a number of XJW's.
If you need help get it, and I hope you find someone able to help you live your life to the full and be happy. We deserve that.

Thank you Simon, what a waste of space that person was ! and the Pure Irony of the username chosen ! whoever it was had zero interest in Truth !
As soon as personal insults began to spill out from the Twat, it was obvious she/he was not here to debate. There are too many ignorant Trolls elsewhere on the Internet, without cluttering up this place.
