When Wifey and I were both in, years before I left, we had one of those things announced by the org. that they said was so "exciting" for us, my wife said, "I don't find that exciting, do you ?" , I laughed and agreed with her. I think she was becoming PIMO before I was !

Starting September 01, 2022, the Angels will help in the ministry work
by RULES & REGULATIONS in2022 governing body update # 6. what exciting news david splane has for all jehovah's witnesses ( who for the last three years were spared the house-to-house preaching work ) '' that we'll return to the ministry september 01, 2022. just in time for our world wide campaign to start bible studies.
and, i'm sure the angels are excited too, because it will give them opportunities to help us with our ministry.''.
not only will the witnesses be rusty in their return to the field ministry, the angels in heaven have been sitting idle while the pandemic stopped the house-to-house ministry.

question/s for the PIMO
by enoughisenough into maintain the facade of being a jw, when doing the ministry, are you not advocating for the gb?
the bible studies, after all are to get people to understand they can't gain life without the "faithful slave" ( you have to be baptized as jw to survive) .how does it make you feel?
if you are parroting an answer in a paragraph that you know is wrong, how does it make you feel?

An Elder said to me once, as he and I went together in F.S. "Let's only use the Bible today, no mags or anything". I thought it a great idea, having been aware all my J.W life that the teachings we were supposed to impart from the org. were not Biblical in the main. I did that from then on , as a person who was already somewhat PIMO.
One lady I called on said "I like you coming round to tell me about the Bible, but I can't stand those Jehovah's Witnesses" !! Said it all.
My J.W parents taught me to be a Lover of Truth, even if what they believed was not truth, and eventually when I realised the extent of the error made by the org. in Doctrine, I could not remain in. I walked away, regardless of what I may lose, as my conscience forced me to.

StephnieLaliberte, I am willing to bet, not a huge sum, I am a poor pensioner! but say £5.00, that this move, in some way, REMOVES the risk of Prosecution for J.W org itself.
Not being my field of Legal expertise I cannot imagine how, apart from this: the K.H Trust is both a charity and a Trust, that may alter things, in that individual J.W's, even Bodies of Elders, are only Donating to a Charitable Trust ,and cannot be considered Agents of that Trust/Charity, while engaged in the work that their Congregation does to make converts, and to conduct meetings etc. The individual perpetrator, and The Congregation could still be sued, but only for what assets they have. Not much in other words, the day to day expenses are now removed from the Congregation's responsibility, they all pay in to a Fund, and those expenses are paid from that. The Scam gets bigger !

Stan Livedeath : " the cong. I was in organised a coach at very short notice to attend a mini one evening assembly at a stadium in London UK. Brother Knorr was coming to give a talk !. That prick was treated like god itself! "
My cong. did the same, all my family went, my father said afterwards that he was disgusted with the prolonged applause at the mere appearance of Knorr on the Platform, and the same at the end, muppets clapping until their hands exploded, "It is glorifying man !" he said. I too, as a teenager, felt uncomfortable at that, before dad's comment.
My father passed away more than two decades ago, I wonder what he would think NOW !

How very widespread the paedophile problem was, and no doubt still is, among the the J.W's.
There is an excellent Drama series that shows this problem in the fictional Congregation featured in the drama called "The Secrets She Keeps" , now on BBC iplayer. I recommend watching both series 1 & 2, the J.W's will criticise the "mistakes" about J.W Org that feature, but it is a Drama, not a Documentary, and really is very good as a Drama, surprising twists and turns, a good Plot ! the fact it features J.W's is incidental.

Will the faithful slave now allow birthdays..........
by BoogerMan in.....or ban jw sisters from using mascara??????
"the bible never refers to a servant of god celebrating a birthday.
this is not simply an oversight, for it does record two birthday celebrations by those not serving god.

Phizzy
Thank you RolRod, for exposing the crass stupidity of the Org's and G.B's argument on this.
Also many of "God's servants" ARE recorded as doing things that the Org. does not allow, or Society either for that matter, keeping Slaves for one, see the Letter to Philemon. He was a Christian Slave owner.

Watchtower vs Islam: Why the deafening silence?
by raymond frantz inwhy has the watchtower failed spectacularly to evangelize to the muslims?
considering the recent influx of muslim people in european countries you would think that some attempt from the religion that touts the are preaching the good news of the kingdom in all the inhabited earth would have been made.instead the only meaningful attempt dates back to 1953 ,almost 70 years ago!!!!
book " man's search for god.what do you think?
-
Phizzy
Anna Marina said " Islam is a made up religion ".
Every religion is made up, by men.
Also " with no history "
Coming from the 7th century A.D. it is not much younger than the Christianity of today.
"Biahi", above, mentions the REAL reason for J.W's avoiding preaching to Islam.

Where it all went wrong for the WT - JF Rutherford
by LoveUniHateExams ini was thinking a bit about this the other day.
ct russell, from what i remember about him, kinda seemed like a genuine, nice(ish) guy, although he had a few eccentric but harmless ideas.. during the russell era jws (actually bible students) could still celebrate christmas, worship in other churches if there was no kingdom hall available, and accept blood transfusions.. then after russell died, along came rutherford - a major league a-hole, for sure.. rutherford had plenty of eccentric ideas but at least some of them weren't/aren't harmless.
some have been long forgotten about - jesus depicted without a beard, the plan to rename the names of the week because names such as thursday (thor's day) is pagan, the articles about the 'dangers' of aluminium, etc.. one key contribution of rutherford which does a lot of harm is no blood transfusions, even in life-threatening situations.. another is shunning, something which never occurred under russell, or at least was much milder.. rutherford has a lot to answer for, i reckon ....

From JF Facts Site " It was not until the 1950's that the Watchtower specifically outlined its censorship of blood transfusions , over 80 years after the commencement of the Watchtower Society. If the doctrine on blood is such a critical doctrine, one must wonder why God would wait so many decades before revealing it as such through the Watchtower."
Rutherford laid the foundation for this murderous, unscriptural Doctrine to develop, by stating that the Law to Noah on Blood was binding on all humans. Franz. F. was the mover behind the 1950's finalisation of a death sentence for many J.W's ,including children.

Bring on the YOUNG elders
by enoughisenough inthere seems to be a push to fast track the younger men to become elders.
beings jesus was 30 when he took up his ministry, i would think that would sort of be an age gauge...the older men were to have their children in subjection, so some were old enough to have children that were old enough to want to rebel.
( that's my slant ) how will the ones who have been jw for years respond to being counseled by those younger than some of their grandchildren?

I guess this is a repeat of a similar push that took place in the late 80's or early 90's, I forget exactly when.
All around the Circuit, and I guess Countrywide, young fellers were made Elder or MS, guys who had been knocking at the door, trying to get the status, for years. This seemed to be as a precursor to forming new Congos. splitting the big ones into two, or three even, then selling off K.H's where they could. This memory comes from before the later operation which got even more K.H's sold off.
This was looked upon with some disdain and suspicion by the older or long serving J.W's, they knew these guys had not been considered up to the mark for a good while, and all of a sudden, the C.O visits, and a dozen new Appointments ? Why didn't the Holy Spirit appoint these guys before ? They had not changed, or suddenly become more "spiritual".
I guess now such appointments are being made because the older Elders and M.S's are no longer serving. But it is pure desperation, and a further dumbing down of the "Religion".
