Yup, a Club I belong to does that when we have a "pooled" meal, there is always lots too much food, so they could combine the Fellowship meal , which they will claim is based on the N.T "Love feasts", with the left-overs being a bit of a Food Bank.

The TWO new things to come this year for J.W Org !
by Phizzy inwhile having my first strong black coffee of the day, i was thinking about what may be to come next as the org.
rapidly goes mainstream, and this is what i came up with :.

Hi all,
While having my first strong black coffee of the day, I was thinking about what may be to come next as the org. rapidly goes Mainstream, and this is what I came up with :
1) They will introduce for Sunday, the After Meeting Fellowship, a time for just chatting but with the added bonus of Coffee and Snacks. This will just extend what many do anyway, spending that time gossiping etc. but will add to cohesion, and stop what a number used to do, rush straight off. This will be introduced as a "Loving provision from Jehovah", and as a time that new people can attend without even actually attending their first Meeting. hence convert prospects can get to know a few first, and the J.W's will be able to tick a Box every month because they did some "preaching".
2) THE BIGGIE, but subtly introduced as no real change at all, they will stress that all medical procedures etc, including the taking of Blood, are ENTIRELY a "conscience matter" and private. Nobody is to question what another J.W does, especially the Elders.
Thus they will no longer be known as The Killer Org. and it will totally remove any legal liability. By introduced subtly, I mean it will only be a "Clarification" of course.

Thoughts on Likely Upcoming Changes in the Org.
by Phizzy ini am thinking that the "ten year plan" that some have spoken of is the most likely scenario.
the org.
has to both attract new members and retain as many existing ones as possible.. so i think they will let the recent changes "bed in" for a while, maybe a year ?

" Whoever came up with the overlapping generations crap is a world-class idiot. "

" I don't see them dropping the teaching altogether, but "refining" the significance of 1914 and talking less and less about it as being significant as time goes on. "
That is my assessment too, they have been trying to minimise the significance of the 1914 rubbish for many a year, by mentioning it only as a "given" for example, and stressing that regardless of that date and doctrine we are still in the "Time of The End".
They will continue that latter tactic, and hope that 1914 fades in to a dim memory, as did 1925 and later1975.
But that is the only the least of their problems, and can be dealt with later.
For now, we on the outside, and PIMO's, will wait and watch all the upcoming changes, and the outcomes. With interest and mild amusement.

Usually the G.B are only reactive, and usually too late and doing the wrong thing, but it really does seem as though they have advice from outside Experts, and are following that advice so as to head off the looming Cash Flow problem.
Whether this "Plan" has any timescale attached to it by the experts we don't know , but the G.B will naturally wish to drip feed the changes in.
So we may see changes coming thick and fast if they begin to panic that none of it is working well or fast enough.

The coup against Tony Morris in order to make major changes?
by Badfish init’s been a long time since i’ve kept up with anything jw-related.
but just a couple days ago, i heard about all the new changes—beards, shunning, etc.
i was surprised, so i asked an old friend who i hadn’t spoken to in ages what happened.

The way I understood that the G.B worked was a two-thirds majority was sufficient to carry a motion ?
But that does not preclude the idea that one G.B member by being forceful may not have held back some of the stuff they wanted to do.

" and visible tattoos ? " that may be a thing too before long ? maybe a tasteful one done by some of the "sisters" will be first, I wonder if some have a hidden one or two already ? To test the waters, there are temporary tatts. like this :

I doubt this, in Pic. above, will happen in the USA but maybe in Europe ?
I remember, well over 30 years in our Congo. a Bro. started wearing one, along with slightly long hair, he was just making a come-back after an absence from attending, and was about to give a Bible Reading on the TMS, some of the Elders thought that he should not be allowed to give his Reading, but the TMS Overseer reasoned with them and he was allowed to, and wore it for a number of years.
He was eventually D.F'd for a minor matter, and after he got re-instated I noticed he had removed it, for obvious reasons I guess, to speed things up. He had a "smart" (shortish) haircut too.
But now ? How long before some do ? and how could any Elder do anything about it ?
"You won't be considered for "privileges" will not carry any weight, and maybe it will be a way for Bros. to AVOID "privileges" in the future ,as wearing a beard no longer works !
