I read that blog some time ago, the guy is obviously articulate and intelligent, and was a clever apologist for the WT.
Needless to say his arguments were not perfect, or indeed honest,and were not enough at the time to get me to feel any different about my vision of the WT as a bunch of liers.
I am glad to see it go though, as I think a JW stumbling upon it having done no research elsewhere on the Net, may have swallowed his false arguments and returned happily to serving the WT cult masters.
Now perhaps they are more likely to find this site and JWfacts.com etc.

Having looked back at his old threads, it worries me a bit, was he got at by the WT ? He claimed to have a way to bring down the WT.
Was he nobbled ?
"They want to have a squeeky clean image in front of the public" too true, and that takes precedence over care and concern for the victims, they simply do not matter to the WT.
As long as it is all swept under the carpet, they do not care.
It is our responsibility as people who do care, we owe it to the victims, to publicise this terrible scandal a much as possible.
Why do we owe it to the victims ? because at one time we supported the WT, in all its disgusting filth, true, at the time we did not know where our money and hours of labour were going, but even so, we owe, big time, so please ,all you good people on here,do all you can to support any efforts on here to expose the WT for what it is, and hopefully to protect the little ones from harm in the future.
the other day (australia day bbq actually) i somehhow got to discussing jws with some of my wifes extended family.
one of them, quite well educated and academic mentioned she was given a wt (no awake to go with it) when they called.. she commented that as she read some of it, it struck her how it was going on about pedaphiles and homosexuals a lot and secondly how every thing they said was not backed up by any legitimate research nor data, just random % this or that to support the flimsy arguments.. her comment was that this was the most un-academic, poorly written journal she had ever read and without going any further, threw it in the trash!.
the sheeple migh lap up the recycled vomit in that rag, but the public aint fooled.. the family laughed heartily when i informed them of the jw belief that the wt and awake!
At one time I used to regularly see pristine copies of the rags in the re-cycling dumpster in our small town, I don't get to see in it now, they have changed the design, but even back then people were taking them to get the JW to move on down the neighbourhood, and just dumping them straight, where they belong, in the trash.

Daniel is not a book of prophecy, if you wish to read into it, or any similar book, the fulfillment of what you see as prophecy you are free to do so and it is easily done, just for fun once I did a similar exercise with a bit of "Revelation" , my efforts made as much sense as Russells, Rutherfords and Freddie Franz et al
Read some scholarly commentaries where the writer has no "End Times" agenda and you will appreciate what the book of Daniel really is.

The Book of Daniel written, possibly by more than one person, in the 2nd century B.C deals with the political powers down till that day, it is not prophetic, it is dealing with history.
It contains some errors even then, the writer (s) confuse Nabonidus with Nebuchadnezzar and say that King Neb went loopy for for seven years, when it was actually King Nab, and there are other errors, hardly a reliable book in any way, and certainly has no bearing upon the 21st Century.
It is simply an archaeological artifact of its time, as is the rest of the Bible.

The level of damage is different for all people involved, but the damage comes from the cult methods they use in their operation. To say they are less of a cult than others is a bit of left over WT thinking, it is like me saying I don't punch my wife till she is unconscious like some guys do, I just slap her a little bit.
Same reasoning, but as OTWO rightly says , for some the damage is immense, if they were not a cult there would be no real damage to speak of, people would leave and move on with their lives and emotions and families in good order.
