  Is the Watchtower shy about repeating their new "generation" teaching?

  as i recall in the 1980s talks and watchtower literature, magazines and books were always talking about the "generation" teaching and how it proved armageddon was going to come any day now.. but am i correct in thinking they have only actually mentioned the new "overlapping generations" teaching once or twice in the literature?

  why are they so shy about talking about their great new interpretation?

  it's almost enough to make you suspect they are a embarrassed about it.. mention it once or twice, don't dwell on it, hope everyone just accepts it, and don't bring it up again.

  ..... necessarily more religious, but more spiritual in a non-religious way ?

  although being religious is one of the definitions os " spiritual " it encompasses much more in the webster's new world dictionary , under the word spiritual it's definition is : " 1. of the spirit or the soul as distinguished from the body or material matters 2. of, from, or concerned with the intellect ; intellectual 3. of or consisting of spirit ; not corporeal 4. characterized by the ascendancy of the spirit ; showing much refinement of thought and feeling 5. of religion or the church ; sacred, devotional, or ecclesiastical ; not lay or temporal 6. spiritualistic or supernatural .

  quite a variety of definitions !

  How Will The Governing Body Endure?

  forget about witness kids.

  ignore the concerns of 'old-timers' (well, the society pretty much has, anyway).

  my question is: how can the governing body endure it all?.

  They are incapable of honesty I fear. I reckon they will receive some new light that they should look after long time H.Q staff with a pension, "To enable them to keep serving in some way through the final days of this system".

  Then they can walk away, and leave it all to the new GB boys to sort out.

  Lions eating straw....is this possible?

  i recall a jw telling me that.... "they" meaning scientists, had done study's on lions in zoo's and discovered that if they gave lions straw and grass to eat that the lions became very passive and no longer showed predator behavior??

  now they never explained who "they" were, or were these "study's" had been done or why based on these study's lions are not now fed grass etc

  has anyone else heard this for real?

  I read an article somwhere which was alerting Veggies to the danger , and cruelty, some of them were inflicting on their pets by trying to keep them on a veggie diet.

  If I can locate it I will post it, it struck a chord at the time as I remembered the JW story, and this article mentioned that in an emergency, just for a short time, it did work to stop the animal from dying, but it went on to list the health problems and kind of death the animal would suffer if long term vegetarianism was enforced.

  Carnivores evolved to be thus, it would take a million years, and lots of painful deaths, and a lot of genetic fiddling to get them to eat straw.

  It is well done, and the fact that it is not apparently by ex-JW's adds weight to any JW who understands what Eschatology means and reads the article, some may never find it due to lack of education !

  Keep an eye on the article folks, JW's like to edit them if they are allowed to.

  Dear Chariklo, Does that first question not refer to the intro. above it, about stopping at any time etc ? Is that not the instruction sheet ? I am presuming it is, and going ahead anyway, just like I always say I have read Terms and Conditions, and I haven't, LOL

  Hi Terri !

  Great to see you are doing this study, I think it could have a great impact for many years to come, as the damage inflicted by JW's ,Scientologists, SDA's and other high control groups on those who leave is considerable, and the health professions need to be aware of the depth and extent of that damage.

  Go girl ! I am about to E-mail the link to a friend of mine who left the SDA's I am sure she will take part.
